You can tell how hard she worked on this album! I was tired for her loool!

That's cool to know that they're leaving JYP trainers for outside help. I'll listen for any differences in his singing for sure. But c'mon. Wonder Girls, Miss A, Got 7, Twice, Stray Kidz and Itzy. They all don't really use melisma and vibrato which hinders them sometimes when trying to sing things that are supposed to be full of life and soul.

2024-07-17 00:12:04 +0000 UTCYour so right about the vocal style being so straight forward and having close to no riffs,runs or even much vibrato in a lot of jyp artist songs or at least songs being released in the past 7 years outside of Nmixx! (Off track from Twice) but that's why I'm glad some stray kids members stopped getting their vocal training at JYP and went outside the company because they (they meaning mainly Seungmin expressing how much he dislikes the 'half air half sound' technique jyp teaches and others followed suit lol) have sounded so much better in terms of technique the past 3 years for Seungmin I believe and year/year and a half for Lee know and I.N training than any singing training Jyp has given them in my opinion. Like for example listening to seungmins first ost and his most recent one "Destiny" his technique sounds better and he sounds like a smarter singer than before and his vibrato is so much better than it was before.

I thought of Jihyo when I heard the beat and style of singing because she is, imo, the best at emulating this style. Emphasis on emulating. She's not the best but it feels a little more right. Twice and a couple of other artists in JYP aren't the best at riffs and runs because of how straight forward and poppy their earlier sound was and sometimes still is. Their training I'm sure wasn't too extensive in terms of vibrato and more melodic phrasings. That's part of the reason why her jaw moves when trying to do certain phrases and notes. JYP himself sings the same way. Jihyo only sometimes saves herself with her lower sounds. They're great at what they do but it's clear when they're in new territory. Such as Rnb.
