Great episode! I'm loving this series as I'm a big fan of early repeating shotguns. At least chronologically though, it seams that we've skipped over the Winchester 1887. Where will that one fall in this series?

don't chase clay in air. I can't stand it when the barrel is too long and the magazin too short. got to LOVE shotguns. if I'd have to part with every gun but one of mine... the pump stays for damn sure.

I guess the long barrel had it's reason. Prisonguards on the towers or walls used shotguns to shot birdshot. If there was a uprising or a turmoil in the courtyard, they shot from above into the ground in front of the feet. The pellets then bounced off into the legs.
Less lethal from 19th century. (Autsch! As we say here)
The distance could have been pretty far. Longer barrel, thighter pattern, better Autsch!
