Clearing Things Up (Rewards + Commissions)

Hi everyone. First of all, before I begin, my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has presently or in the past supported me through Patreon despite a drought of promised content. Every single dollar contributes to my daily expenses, but those pale in comparison to the boon of financial security you all have given me over these past months.

Now. On to the elephant in the room.

Since July, I've been mired in a thick, inexorable miasma of depression. It comes from a combination of medically diagnosed mental illness, living with a family beset by chronic pain, and the anxieties that come with that. Out of respect for my parents, I won't disclose the very specific details of their sufferance or what that means - but the long and short of it is, these factors don't quite make for ideal writing conditions.

That's no excuse. I know it's not. This is my job, or rather, I at least WANT it to be my job. As such I need to approach writing with a discipline that I've previously lacked, instead of waiting for inspiration that - at least, right now - won't come.

Now on to how that concerns my patrons.

Foreseeing my own damaged work ethic, this is the reason I don't accept commission payment up front.

For patrons, I've essentially robbed you of content which is rightfully yours.

Starting tomorrow I'll be rearranging the method through which I reward you, to be more accommodating and less rigid, and to allow more freedom of WHEN you wish to claim your rewards.

Instead of receiving a monthly piece, you will be able to keep accruing wordcount based on your contribution for you to save and claim whenever you like (with some discretion on my part, but not much).

Example: Someone paying for a tier which rewards a 500 word piece a month. Instead of receiving 500 word stories per month, they can now wait two months and claim for a 1000 word story, or three months and 1,500. So on, and so forth. Etc.

Tomorrow is the end of September and beyond that is the start of October, one of my favourite months, and with that I will approach my writing with a greatly disciplined approach to finish my commissions - and then - allow you all to claim your accrued wordcount rewards (should you so wish).

 Again, thank you everyone.
