Learning and Stuff Update

Hey, yeah, still haven't uploaded the comic's next page. I'm sorry about that but there are several reasons I'm still not finished with that page. I mean, I already have all the renders I need and putting the page together is what I'll be doing today but I wanted to post a bit of what's going on before I do that. (TL;DR version at the end)

After I finally had my apartment all for myself again I worked on other stuff that allowed me to learn more about the cum prop making technique I used in Valentine's Day render. If you follow me on twitter you might have already seen the scene, but I'm not sharing a pic now because I want this post to be public and well... you know how it is around here with that kind of content... *sigh*. Also doing more stuff in Blender to get used to it. Also also, still selling my stuff to get a better PC for rendering. Luckily, I'm very close to finishing buying the parts I need. Also also also, the building had to be fumigated so I had to be out and lost time preparing my apartment for that.

Anyway, it's not a secret I want to make this for a living, I have always been open about it, and on that note, I've come to a few realizations.

I'm trying really hard to find a way to make a living from this with as few "paywalls" as I can. And honestly... that's kind of hard when not many people know about me and my content. So yeah, the answer would be "make stuff and they will eventually know you". And that's true, but I can't really afford to wait too much for that to happen. Not saying I have to get known overnight, I know it takes time, but I can do things to make it happen faster. And doing only my own stuff is not it. I think commissions are.

I opened commissions not too long ago, but not only I forgot to provide a more accurate list of pricing and details, but I also haven't really pushed it around too much. I only have been making my own stuff so far because I love it and I thought there were already enough people doing content with popular characters from games and other media, but how are people supposed to know I'm able to create the stuff they want me to make? Making my own characters doesn't really tell anyone I'm able to do the same with theirs. So yeah, I'll be doing my version of popular characters and making them do... things.... in hopes of getting more commissions. I think that's the best way for me to start making this for a living without many paywalls. I'll still keep doing my own comics and stuff, but expect updates to keep coming at about the same pace I have been doing recently. Although it may improve when I get the new rendering rig.

TL;DR version

I'm not stopping making my own content, but I'm going to be focusing more on commissions and content that lets people know I can make theirs, so the comic updates will be slow (about the same as it's been recently). After I finish with the current page I'll be working on my commission pricing list and make some popular characters. From One Piece maybe?
