Top secret backstage pass

Thank you all SO very much for your support during this incredible time. We're again making worldwide headlines, mostly for the right reasons, but I couldn't have done the last 7 months without my Patreons' support 🙏

As many of you sensed, I've waited a long time to let this C=at out of the bag, and it is both a relief and exciting. Yet, I'm mostly not as nervous as I should be, because - as I said - this is the one thing I feel like I was meant to do.

In the latest video I mentioned having original C= staff on board so I can ask "What would Jack Tramiel do?". What I didn't expect was the above response entered in the contact form, from his son, Leonard Tramiel.

"I'd like to help..."

Does that count as having the blessing of the Tramiel family? Well, I did reach out directly, expressing my gratitude for his witty message, whilst asking what he thinks Jack Tramiel would have thought about the news.

"I think dad would have been honored, flattered, and a bit confused by the idea of reviving Commodore. He was a very pragmatic person, especially about business. He also didn't really have any hobbies so the whole retro computing thing was a bit strange to him."
–Leonard Tramiel

That mix feels exactly right for what we knew of Jack Tramiel. What an incredible moment, to have his son reach out, and share that his emotions would at least likely have been to feel flattered and honoured by our reboot. I'm... speechless.

I'll find out more when I have a Zoom call with Leonard tomorrow! Yes, with his permission, I'll record it also.

Thank you for your ongoing support. More behind-the-scenes stuff soon!

I love it! Congrats. I can’t wait to see what’s ahead.

I asked in the chat of the june 19th TPUG online meeting (he was the guest speaker) if he had any thoughts on your attempt to buy commodore, but didn't get an answer. I figured the question had just not been noticed. Maybe he did notice but wasn't aware of things at the time and looked into it afterwards. That would be awesome.
