I was getting the urge to play with more music for my next album, and Suno AI has released a couple of new features called Cover Song and Remaster, using its new v4.
So, I started with the first song I ever wrote, and recorded on OctaMed on my Commodore Amiga. Here's my original recording from my Amiga of "Glass Out Of Stone" which you've likely heard before (if not go find your free music benefit download link on my Patreon welcome message!):

Cool, so I asked Suno to "Remaster it" and extend it. The remaster is interesting; it kept it in a lo-fi quality, but certainly added a lot to the production values.
But where this really shines is from 2:00 when it basically starts riffing so as to extend on my work. Sounds like an 80s Pet Shop Boys demo to me (which is exactly what I was listening to when I recorded this in the 80s). Here it is:

So then I thought, why not go all the way and ask it to make a Cover Song of it. Essentially, re-record it. This time I pumped my full prompt into it that I've been using to get some of the production heard in "Lost Angeles". It's a complex prompt but basically calls for atmospheric arpeggios in a synthwave and orchestral EDM style. I don't know if orchestral EDM is even a thing lol. Here is the cover. It's incredible.

It also threw out a different version. It's hard to choose between them:

So then I thought (again), speaking of orchestras, what if a real live orchestra performed this, which is one of my dreams for all my music someday:

And there you have it. Glass Out Of Stone 2025. I will craft parts of all of this and my original into a fuller album track for "ESP :: Electro Sensory Perifection" which I hope will be out soonish!
Thanks for coming on this journey with me and enjoy the rest of your week retro music fans!
