2025-01-19 13:33:09 +0000 UTCI feel like I come on here and say everyone is my fav lol but truly my favorite solo artist of all time, regardless of his Korean/Kpop background, is DPR Ian. He isn't really Kpop, more in the K-music scene as part of an indie label (as in he and his friends made their own label) that does r&b and hip hop. DPR Ian, or Christian Yu, first moved from Australia to Korea to follow his dancing dreams to then be scouted to be an idol. He debuted in a group called C-Clown but then the group disbanded and he kind of went behind the scenes. He came out to be a video producer for their label DPR with his friends and the main artist of DPR at the time was DPR Live, a rapper. Ian's video editing skills and visual visions are my favorite. He then started releasing his own music. His creativeness behind music videos and this music is genius level. He's worth diving deep into!

2025-01-15 19:09:41 +0000 UTCDPR Ian is one of my favorite music artists! He writes and produces his own music, as well as directs and edits his music videos. His music videos are always very theatrical and I think are some of the most creative out there. One thing that's really unique about his music and music videos is that, everything he puts out is inspired by his experiences with bipolar disorder and DID (Disassosiative Identity Disorder). He's very open to talking about his disorders and their connection to his music. I don't know the exact order of all his videos, but there is a chronological order to them story wise. I HIGHLY recommend watching his Miito Movie. It strings together some snippets of songs from his album, "Mood Swings in to Order", in a "movie" that's about 8 minutes. It's so beautifully made. I would also say watch the preview for the Miito Movie beforehand, which features a snippet of a song not in the movie, and is beautiful on its own. EDIT: Forgot to say that Ian is also a co-founder of the DPR (Dream Perfect Regime) label.
