January Update

Hello everyone!! Super big apologies, this update is coming to you very late!

First and foremost, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Here's to a clean slate and new beginnings, with a hopefully positive turn around for everyone going into 2023!!  

This update is gonna try and cover a few things including my work schedule, the new reward system, and goals for the 2023 year. You guys have been ever so patient with me so I want to keep up as much communication with you as possible while I'm trying to work on all the owed work I need to get to everyone.

So lets start off with that!

Commissions and Rewards.

As you know I've been placing priority on patreon rewards to try and get them out as fast as possible. I've lowered the number down to a good amount on a lot of the much older rewards, so we're finally reaching into the most recent requests, which is a good thing for the beginning of the new year!

So, because of those numbers going down, I filtered the last remaining of the older rewards into the Patreon Trello, as well as condensed all of 2022 rewards into one column. I've also re-arranged all of the rewards in order of sketches, flats, to full colors so that the smallest of the rewards can be done and finished quickly as to those that would require more time to work on. Hopefully by doing it this way, I can get rewards done much faster.

As a reminder, if you have any rewards that I have not started yet, you guys are completely allowed and even encouraged to change around your requests to fit something you would want more, and the edits are easy to make, especially if you have access to the trello! When you've made any edits to a card with your request on it, make sure to use the "Review Update" label so I know you've made changes! We're getting there for sure, I just need more time and with the addition of a new iPad, I'm hoping to take advantage of being able to work out of the house while I'm at my new job or just anywhere in general!

As for commissions, I'll be slowly be getting back to these when I figure out when is a good time to get back on them. Weekends seem to be the best time for me to work on everything all together, and with older patreon rewards reaching it's diminishing numbers, I'll be slating certain times to work on these and get them out as quick as I can as well.

At some point, I will simply go back to working on both comms and rewards at the same time, but for now decreasing numbers on both sides for a manageable amount has been one of my top goals.

Guardia: The Tales of Halgeis.

Guardia has been on hiatus for some time now due to the events of December 2021. It's been hard getting back into working on the comic with all of  the backup work that needs to be finished, so least to say, the webcomic will remain in hiatus until I feel it's okay to start working on it again.

However, with the anniversary coming up next month, at some point, I will be putting a pause on owed work to tend to some of the things I wanted to do for Guardia's 9th Anni! I really dont like missing anniversary stuff, so I want to give myself a break at some point so I can do something for it.

During the time off for the anniversary, I'll also try to update some things I've been meaning to get to on the website! They'll be subtle updates, but it'll be stuff I've been meaning to cross of on my to do list all together.

We'll be back! Eventually.

The New Patreon Reward System

Going forward into the new year, I said we were switching things up for the new reward system coming into play, as I'll be keeping to my promise of retiring the Points system this year.

The points system was meant to make everything easier to manage during the time I was without work, since back then, I had more time to actually work on art.

But with me having a full time job, and not as many hours in the day as I would wish, the new system is my adjustment for this life change.

Unfortunately, I was unable to complete my goal of finishing all of my commissions and rewards before the new year, which also untimely messes with my plans for incorporating the new system as I would wish. So while I still plan on retiring the Points system this year, we will not be immediately going into the new reward system, not until I meet all of my pre-requisites to make the change and not burn myself out at the same time.

With that said, the points system will remain in place until my requisites are met. So you will still be able to accumulate and spend points until a certain time.

I am slating this new goal until the end of June, because I REALLY would like have everything done on time. Plus, this will give me more time to think things through with the new rewards system.

As a note, because I am extending the duration of the Points system, reward slots will be limited as not to keep me over encumbered with owed art. You can continue to hold onto the points you have, spend them when slots open up, or place them towards the new system, which may or may not benefit the type of reward available to you once they open.

Once and IF my goal is met, any remaining points will expire on June 30, 2023, and the new system will take its place going into the following month.

Conclusion

I'm sorry that I wasn't able to manage a whole lot for 2022, since it has been a lot of catching up and recovering from 2021. I've had to make a lot of decisions that ultimately effected what I am able to do and not, so I'm really hoping this year is the year I'll be able to manage things in a much more timely and efficient manner, as well as hopefully bringing more content back to this patreon.

I dont know what to say to you guys, but thank you for the support and your understanding of my situation. It really hasn't been easy, but you've made things a lot less stressful for me, so I'm hoping I can pay that back soon.
