The "Sinister Six" Capacitors in the D series BVM

Hey everyone, over the last 2 weeks I have been recapping lots of BVM D series boards. I have already recapped all the boards except the ISR board in a BVM D24E1WU. First I have been focusing the majority of my study on the PA board. This is the only internal board that is not in card form with electrolytic caps. It's also a board that is inside the D20's, D24's & D32 BVMs. Today I recapped my 4th PA board. Since doing these recappings, I've been testing and documenting the capacitor life and wear with a nice new meter I bought. I've been tracking the caps values and comparing it to the hours on the many BVMs.

After reviewing the capacitor life data, I have found a pattern of what I'm calling the "Sinister Six" capacitors that are wearing out consistently on the PA board. Meanwhile the other 26 caps maintain excellent levels of life and tend to last 3 to 4 times longer than the "Sinister Six." I'm working on sorting out my studies and will have much more coming soon, including a specially designed cap kit to replace the "Sinister Six." I will do the same procedure with the other D series boards in the future.

Thanks

- Steve
