September 2023 Release - Super-Heavy Destroyers, Big Guns and a whole lot more!

Hey there all! Welcome back to your monthly newsletter from Solwyte Studios - that's me, if you're wondering - with a whole load of new things. Oh yeah. Big ol' thangs. And stuff.

If you're new here, there's a little section at the end of this post I suggest reading if you've got any questions, and if it doesn't answer them, feel free to shoot me a message on Discord or via Patreon. Speaking of Discord, if you aren't there already - get on there!

So, what do I get this month?
Well, you know, I'm glad you asked. Shall we start with the biggun? Go on, yeah, it'll be fun!

Adding to the roster of new-style Skjalos Guard tanks, but dwarfing them all, is the all-new Skaryssa-Class Super-Heavy Tank, upon which the first variant, the 'Anja-Maijen' Destroyer is built. In fact, I believe this is one of the largest tracked vehicles I've made, second only to the Nemesis Super-Heavy Destroyer Engine.

Told you it was big.

This is hopefully the first of a number of new super-heavy vehicles I intend to design, and this comes with a double-barrelled tank hunter gun, and ports for two sponsons on each side of the vehicle, with hollows for 6x2mm cylindrical magnets. The sponsons aren't yet ready, since I ran out of time, but I fully intend to include them as soon as they're ready!
In addition, though they're not yet available, presupport testing has begun on this, and so far the tracks have printed perfectly - the body and cannons will go on in the next couple of days, and once I'm happy with them, they too will be uploaded!

Oh, is that gun not big enough for you? Alright then.

'Finally', I hear all those waiting for new weapons to equip their Kaliakos with. I know, it's a gun, too!

Split into both large chunks for Saturn-size printers and smaller sections for those of you brave, or insane, enough to tackle a Kaliakos on an Anycubic Photon, this is able to attach to any one of the Kaliakos' four arms, and maintains a recess in the mounting for magnetisation. Oh, and a note for anyone having trouble extracting the files - these files have very long names and subdirectories, so sometimes Windows doesn't like the filename length. If you have this issue, you can just open the .rar and extract the files directly to a folder of your choice, instead of using the folder setup I've included.

Shall we take a break from all this massive stuff for a bit? Oh cool, cool, all those giant guns were tiring me out.

Entirely a new faction joining us at Solwyte Studios are the Castellan Guard! Well, I know I said we'd take a break from the massive stuff, but you know, they're not that big, surely?

The Castellan Guard, of the all-new Castellans of Ouresa, are towering warriors built entirely of steel and clockwork. Fleshless, emotionless automatons such as these are the footsoldiers of the Castellan Wards, known to those within the bounds of Ouresa as guardian angels - deadly and without pause or hesitation, warriors designed to protect those within their borders at any cost. But more on these, their true purpose and the masters to whom they answer, later...

These are a set of five models, which I intend to expand upon in future with more poses so you can have truly diverse units, but this makes a good start. Not to mention, you know, they're all presupported too. Oh, I'm on a roll, two units presupported upon release? Pfft, that ain't like me!

Wait, there's more?

That's right! Astride a monstrous Woodstalker, the Taekolta Meridarka commands her warriors into the fray. Though visually blinded by her bond with the ancient Dæmon Taeish, she sees with the spirits of the woods, and fights as one with preternatural skill and ferocity. Though without eyes, the Meridarka of a Taekolta coven is among the most deadly of them all, able to strike and repost as if she can see her opponents moves before they act.

A proper leader for the Taekolta has finally arrived - now it's almost a faction! In addition, it's also - no, it can't be? Presupported too? Unbelievable! (also, if you're new here, wondering why I'm making such a big deal about presupports, it's because I'm usually rubbish at getting them ready in time for release).

Okay, last thing, I promise.

So, something I've been keeping a little quieter on the development front for The Promised Land are how units have changed, including the new addition of upgrades for units. In fact, I'm hoping to have almost every unit have at least one upgrade option - in practise, each upgrade replaces a model in that unit, and here we have the five options for Hieronites, in this Hieronites Specialists release (Oh, and they're presupported - just saying):

 - One Archieronite, with a Phaseblade and a Rail Rifle, as a squad leader.
- One Ironguide with a Rail Rifle, to co-ordinate with other Ironguides in other units and receive commands from Overlords and Iconoclasts across vast distances on the battlefield.
- One Augmetist, with a Laeurgeon, for repairing injuries and reviving the augmented parts of other Hieronites - their minds may be dead, but that shouldn't affect their fighting abilities.
- Two Hieronite Gunners, with options for either a Blaze Cannon, Las Destructor or a Rotary Gun.

So, that's it for this month's rewards... right?
Wait, what's that? More? MORE?!

Introducing... The Welcome Packs!

So, it's been a request since the very beginning for me to create welcome packs for people just joining the Patreon, since it's a fairly common practise, and I think it's only fair to repay your support with more things. However, just a plain old standard set that everyone gets for joining isn't any fun, so what I intend to do is create a series of themed welcome packs to rotate through, so if you join up and stick around, you'll get a whole variety of models over time!

This month, complimenting the Hieronite Specialists are the original Minatarii Hieronites, led by an Ochystan Iconoclast, and accompanied by the (newly presupported!) Hastaxii Irenarch!

For those new to Solwyte Studios!
If you're new here, you'll receive your files via MyMiniFactory, either through an email invitation to redeem your files through their site, or if you already have an account, it'll get added to your library automatically - don't worry if you don't get your files right away, however, as it might take me a little while to issue them, as it's a manual process. Later this month, all being well, this will translate into an automated process via PrintedWargames instead, and when it does, I'll update this post to reflect that.

---------------

As a final note, I hope you very much enjoy this month's stuff, and thank you all for your support! If you want to show off your finished prints and models, I'd love to see them in the channel #my-solwyte in my Discord!

Thank you for reading, and thank you for your support, everyone!

Comments

Hey there! Thank you for the support :) unfortunately at this time a lot of the lore is firmly in my brain, rather than solidified in text, however you can find faction overviews here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/update-on-file-86026762

New subscriber and I'm really impressed with the aesthetics of the miniatures, although not all are mini of course. I'm looking forward to getting some prints done and reading up on lore behind them. Any suggestions where to start?

That's a really neat and cool welcome pack :) Really loving the new tank this month - big twin gun love!!
