June 2023 Patreon Release

Hey there all! Welcome to June 2023's Patreon release - we have robots, we have infantry, we've got characters, we've got tiny little ride-on-tractor-thingies and we've got even bigger robot hands!

Well, before we get into the nitty-gritty, if you're new here, you'll receive your files via MyMiniFactory, either through an email invitation to redeem your files through their site, or if you already have an account, it'll get added to your library automatically - don't worry if you don't get your files right away, however, as it might take me a little while to issue them, as it's a manual process. In addition, on the store page you can see all the previous releases of models - if you've missed out on something and want to get your hands on it, fear not, for as a Patron, you can use a discount code (check the post after this one for it!) to get 15% off all your digital purchases from the Solwyte Studio store!

Anyway - onto the good stuff! I think we should probably start with the long-long-long awaited final part to complete the assembly of a full Kaliakos Anathema Construct (as pictured above) - the Demolisher Claws:

This includes a full shoulder and arm assembly for building and attaching Demolisher Claws to your giant robot, with full range of posability with the shoulder, upper arm, elbow, lower arm, palm and each finger and thumb segment - and, it can be built with all thumb-ends to make a traditional hand, rather than a claw, should you so choose. Please note that the part numbers are listed for a pair of arms (as in one claw for each side), so if you want all four shoulder mounts equipped with arms, print everything twice the number of times listed in the filename! Those of you hoping for more weapon options, keep an eye out, as more will be on their way here soon!

Shall we stick with the big-fisted robots for a bit?

Ahah! I told you a new Hastaxii model would be coming soon! With both refreshed and all-new cannons, and the return of the faithful clamps with new fancy details, it's like Christmas again! Wait, what's that? You wanted more options? Oh fine, how's this then:

Giant two handed hammers for crushing your opponents!
Collosal axes for sundering tanks and splitting heads!
Guns, guns as far as the eye can see!
Huge fists for crushing, punching, bashing, smashing, whacking, slapping!
Shields for... shielding!
Yeah so basically these guys are a huge combination of every previously available Hastaxii kit, but every single option available has been improved, even from slightly up-detailed stuff like the clamp claws and cleavers (that are compatible with all the other new Covenants of Astyri infantry sets) to the completely resculpted gauntlets, plus a bunch of new weapon options, and far more pose flexibility than was previously available. In addition, there are five sets of legs, with the options for normal legs, legs with stabilisation pins, and legs with stabilisation pins plus loincloths.

There are five poses for both the axes and mauls, and each ranged weapon can be posed at a 10° or 45° angle from the elbow joint, and both the fists and shields are on ball-joint connections so there's full range of posability, whilst also being easy to build. In addition, the shoulders and carapace are separate from the torso for ease of painting, and the torso is separate from each set of legs, giving you more range of customisation.

Right, well, that's enough of that - next up, let's go to the other end of the model scale: a character!

Well, a number of you may recognise a few elements of this particular kit from the existing Skjalos Veterans kit - this Skjalos Guard Cenobite kit is the first in a series of commanders I intend to create for the Skjalos Guard, expanding on where the original Veterans and (now discontinued) Skjalos Commanders kits started off. Here I wanted to begin to truly give them their own flavour, rather than just being the same models in identical armour with different arms and heads, so they would be instantly recognizable, and distinct, on the battlefield, and here, the Skjalos primary mystic, the Cenobite, now sports heroically windswept robes and a much more commanding pose! She also comes with either a new facemask and hair in a bun, or the original head roaring in defiance.

Complimenting both her and as a tangent of the recently released Kaeio Scorchmasters, there's a new and adorable way of doing heavy weapons, just arriving now!

Devastation in style! Now, what more could you ask for, as a heavy gunner, than a little armoured tankette to mount an even bigger gun on - and not only that, but you get to fire them from the comfort of chesterfield seats on the tiniest of tank tracks, fitting snugly on both 50mm and 60mm bases (pictured here on 50mms). There are four gun options, displayed above, and all of them can be attached either firing forwards or angled upwards - perfect for taking down giant tanks and robots, or splattering that pigeon that keeps leaving messes on your helmet.

Next up, as I said earlier this month, the current Taekolta models would be leaving for a bit, however, I felt like something needed to be put in place as a signifier of what they would become when they get a slightly refreshed model line.

The Astarthi Huntress represents a change in aesthetics for the Taekolta faction, and a first step towards re-establishing their faction as, rather than being reduced to simple barbarian raiders, as an intelligent and driven tribal faction. It also represents a new step in the quality of the miniatures, with fur trim on their boots and clothes, and fur hoods on their cloaks, and the introduction of layered bone armour on their shoulders and decorative bone details across the miniature. This model, the Huntress, is an warrior who, unlike a great number of the Taekolta, spends a great deal of time at the rear of an assault, picking off important targets and sowing disarray in an enemy shortly before the main Taekolta force are revealed. She wears a full face mask, the Diskoltana, (and has an optional hood) as a mark of mixed honour - that her role is a necessary part of war, and that while she does not earn glory in the traditional Taekolta way of melee, that she is honoured by doing what must be done.

Following that, lastly but most certainly not leastly, are the first infantry entry expanding the Aventine Dynasties otherwise entirely-aerial armoury:

Distinctly unlike the Taekolta, Skjalos Guard and Covenants of Astyri, the Aventine infantry are remarkably plain, retaining only a primary weapon and grenades - there's no need for them to carry any extra weight since they are always accompanied by anti-grav supply craft. They also carry much higher quality, less rugged, armour and clothing, with thinly layered, rounded armour plates and padded leather to protect them, for a focus on speed and manoeuvrability over killing power or impenetrable slabs of protective metal.

Navigators are made up as a set of ten unique infantry poses, and each can be equipped with a Multi-Spectrum Tachyon Rifle. Unlike a number of my infantry sets, these only come with one weapon option at present, but you can expect more soon!

Now, don't forget, earlier this month, the full PDFs for the first waves of the Skjalos Guard and Covenants of Astyri came out alongside the final version of the Core Rulebook for gaming in The Promised Land, so please do feel free to download them and get playing straight away:

Appendix: Skjalos Guard Download

In addition, before I sign off, just to remind you guys the plan for this month: a giant re-upload of all the file folders, in the new, fixed, SOL format; all existing working presupports uploaded; instructions for Construct kits made and uploaded; add descriptions and sizes to all current listings on MMF, and whether or not those models are presupported or not. In addition, having a full refresh of the entire range will leave me with clarity on what models need supports, or re-supporting.

As a final note, I hope you very much enjoy this month's stuff, and thank you all for your support! If you want to show off your finished prints and models, I'd love to see them in the channel #my-solwyte in my Discord!

Thank you for reading, and thank you for your support, everyone!

Ok. I am stumped. Where can a normal patreon member get the current discount code for the MMF store? I have a few items I want to order that total a ton and could really use the code. (Says check post after this one and either no post or I can't see it... and no way to upgrade membership either as the only higher tier is merchant and it is sold out.)

That's a lot of work. Keep on, you are brave. I'll keep on supporting you until you get out of it, and beyond. I know a couple friends who are doing the same.
