Hello there everyone! Welcome to a new post, about new things, from me! Hopefully, now that I'm getting back into the swing of things, you'll see more productivity in the coming days - and where better to start than the reimagining of what seems to be a fan favourite model, Overlord Ambera Phykon!
As a number of you will be familiar, the current Ambera Phykon is a somewhat scantily clad leader of the Covenants of Astyri, suspended in midair by a betentacled engine, wreathed in cloak. Now, I've learned a whole lot about modelling since I made that model, and about how the ancient leaders of the Covenants should be. For starters, rather than a barely-bionic-body, I've decided to go for an entirely bespoke armour that echoes the Myadea Guard, but is distinctly more elegant and closer to the original human form. I really wanted to show that this armour represents power and wealth, so (with the exception of the fingers) every single part of the armour on this model has been created specifically for it, and it alone.
Over the hundreds of years of her life, Ambera Phykon's skin and flesh has rotted away, and gradually been replaced by cables and motors, until little more is left of her original body beyond her bones - which you can see remaining in her skull and ribcage. This rendition, you may also note, has significantly less cloaking. At the time in which I created the original model, I used fabric layers to hide places that I didn't quite know how to detail, and, honestly, the fabric didn't flow particularly naturally.
Now, of course, it's far from complete. Currently, it stands a total of 110mm tall, but it'll be getting a whole lot more detail before it's released, which is my job for tomorrow - more tentacles, individual details, and a fully sculpted detachable diorama base (a 100mm base which has a detachable central section that's also a 60mm base).
In addition, I'm sure you guys will be happy to note that March's Åselon Battle Tank, Kaliakos Body, Secondary Weapons and Legs presupports are now online - there are still a number of outlyers on the Kaliakos to do, such as armour panels for the legs, but they'll all come in due course!
