In China, if you can read Chinese, you will often see illegal graffiti advertising something called 迷药 - or Mi Yao.
It's a poison with ancient roots, but has morphed over time.
It's something I have been poisoned with as well.

What the hell, doesn't the truck drivers now how to go down hill in China? OK if you are an idiot car driver that break 200 times going down a hill, irritate the shit out of me as i never ever break down hill. But anyone that have spent more then 5 minutes driving a truck or buss should know how to motor break. Put in the proper gear and roll down hill in a controlled manner. Breaking is only for obstacles on the road.

2024-02-19 07:05:03 +0000 UTCI'm working my way through your back catalog and it's fascinating to hear about the synthetic drug market inside China. Obviously the US has been getting ravaged by synthetic chemicals such as fentanyl and various benzodiazepine analogs, which are industrially synthesized in China and smuggled into America (mostly through legal ports of entry in containerships, actually, not through Mexico), but I've never heard anything about those drugs being used INSIDE China. These are extremely potent drugs, so it's not inconceivable that a pharmaceutical factory worker could smuggle it out in a pocket or something and go on to sell it. I would love to hear more about the internal drug trade in China!

Curious what apps Daigou's are using to live stream back to mainland China. Friends of mine pre-record videos and send it on wechat, but I'm sure there are ways to live-stream from abroad back to China without having the phone locked to China's APP store/region etc. How do Daigou's get around the streaming issues ? We’ve always been taught that Miao is a derogatory blanket term that includes many groups from the region. I will ask my father about poison or drugs you spoke about. The only stories we’ve heard are that our ancestors migrated from China because they were persecuted by the Han Chinese. Really enjoy your shows.
