Bags of snacks at the Catholic Church… lol

I am half surprised that the Chinese government didn't try to weaponize a state religion as a further form of control and influence. Come on CCP your slacking off here, make more effort.

Yes sir

Question: Do you see a possibility that China will first take Kinmen islands, without going full invasion on Formosa island? Is Kinmen defendable and do you think this would escalate to full war, or Taiwan and allies would have to accept loss of Kinmen? Thanks!

Question- Wondering if you guys / your wives / friends, played any Chinese phone games like 王者榮耀 or 和平精英. I got hooked on 王者榮耀 and paid maybe 300usd on skins. These two games were on everyones phones when I was there, massively popular. Would love to see an in-depth take on Chinese gaming. Phone games dominate any other gaming platforms and was surprised how many games on western app stores are owned by Chinese companies like Timi.

question: my parents come from different countries; mum from Ireland, dad from Germany. Growing up in Northern Ireland, my dad made sure to teach us german and take us to visit family and show us german movies, shows and books, are there any books, movies or shows in chinese that you give your kids so that they can keep in touch with their chinese heritage?

Are there any health problems you still have that you got in China that you now have to live with? For example parasites or something

Question: Do you guys ever get concerned for CCP individuals when going to places like China Towns in the USA?

Steven J

I would like to know what your wives and chinese friends would miss most about China. And/or what things in China are difficult to get in US. Perhaps there are Chinese stores near you but they are limited? or you can buy most of what you would want online? or there has been challenges since covid and supply chain issues? Do local chinese newspapers seem influenced by the Mainland?

Reikan

If you were hypothetically stuck in an elevator with Xi Jinping for 2 minutes, and you could say anything you wanted to him what would you say? Hypothetical question that would never happen I know so irregardless of potential criminal consequences, just like, if you could have one thing you wanted to say to the CCP leader who has obviously done so much damage as you guys point out, what would you say?

Brandon White

Are you guys taking Xiaban Hou episode suggestions? Let’s go back into deep adv lore: I suggest a listening party for that crappy $1 Christian rap group that you bought for long road trips (Bridging the gap??? Is that their name? Can’t even remember lol)

Great show love this community, sad I can never make it live due to time differences and stuff, but good idea for Q and A section for comments in last weeks xiaban hou.

HeyItsMeUthere

Thank you for considering the question regarding China potentially benefiting from an isolated Russia via discounted and unfettered access to Russian grain, hydro carbons, fertilizer, etc. Happier to get a well thought out answer at some point in the future, if you find the time, than an off the cuff response. As you both said, it is an entire topic in and of itself. I write strategic intelligence forecasts and this is currently one of the most interesting and consequential open-ended geopolitical questions. As a result, there is high demand from legislators, gov. orgs (e.g., DoS), commodity traders, etc. for forecasts. However, with the language barrier, barriers to sources in China and lack of credible data issued by the CCP (Russia too, but far less so) paired with the number of ways and terms under which the war could end or continue w/ varying levels of intensity, it’s also one of the most difficult to forecast.

Question: Why does Liaoning province and Dongbei have quite a big Christian population? Where does that influence come from? It can’t have come from Russia because Russians are orthodox. Seems like an interesting anomaly
