Early-bird: Elite Longplay - Part 1

Following the recent poll I'm temporarily moving to a more flexible schedule of ad hoc video releases rather than once-a-week only. The aim is to provide more content spread across each week to support patrons and the retro community with a sprinkling of entertainment at this time.
Before adding in some true live gaming I decided to get the Elite longplay edited and released first as there's 9 hours of gameplay which I have been condensing down. Here is part 1, and it's one of my longest videos yet. Hopefully this is a good thing at the moment.
I have a lot more from this exploration of Elite, so feel free to let me know in the comments whether you'd like Part 2 to be shorter or longer than this one. I'm aiming to get Part 2 out in the next 48 hours (with you still getting early access).
Once that's out of the way we'll move to some live gaming with Ladyfractic and/or that Perifractic guy with the weird accent. Here's the opening screen to whet your appetite :-)
I'm open to better name ideas too ;-) I thought about the recipe/button-mashing themed "Lady mash" or just "Ladyplay" but... nah! :-D

I first tried Elite on a Sun Sparcstation IPC. I think it was an illegal port with some mods. This was back in 1990. Man how time flies.

2020-03-17 22:01:03 +0000 UTCI really enjoyed this, Elite was one of the first games I ever had on a really old CGA MS-DOS-computer my mother had (well, it was state of the art at the time...). Never got to play it on the C64 though, would love to get a copy now. Are you serious it loads from a tape? Can it somehow save on tape too, or does it load from tape and save on disk (that would make it a really weird game indeed)?
