Blog: Finally, the script is DONE (02/14/22 - 02/18/22)

Hello Patrons! Here is what I've been up to this week.

Monday, February 14th - Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! I hope it was magical. Kristin & I usually keep things pretty low-key. We typically like to order a pizza and watch a movie. This year, we watched "I Want You Back" on Amazon Prime. It was ok; it had some funny moments. But it's a rom-com, so be prepared for the cheese.

Work-wise, I continued to revise the script, and I'm almost finished. I'm thrilled I chose to do these revisions. I'm adding even more information that I thought might be important and verifying a few things as well. 

Tuesday, February 15th - Revisions complete!

The title says it all. My revisions for the Super Mario World script are done, so I've e-mailed them to Kristin for review. 

Wednesday, February 16th - Working on Footnotes

Typically, I work on Footnotes episodes on Friday. But Kristin records her podcast on Wednesdays, so she won't be able to revise the script. So I decided to work on Footnotes instead. 

Contra III's 30th anniversary is coming up here soon, so I thought I would do a little video on it. If you own the Contra Anniversary Collection, it's got some great development docs and interviews on the game!

Thursday, February 17th - More Edits

On Thursday morning, Kristin revised the script and made some suggested edits. So in the afternoon, I went through her revisions. We are prepared for the read-aloud tomorrow!

In addition, I made a Footnotes episode on Bleem! If you aren't familiar, Bleem was a Playstation emulator for PC that was released commercially in 1999. I actually did a whole video about it.  

Friday, February 18th - The Read-aloud

Today, Kristin & I sat down and read aloud the script for the final review. I can't stress enough how important this process is. Reading words vs. speaking them is very different. So a sentence that looks good on paper might sound clunky when read aloud. 

This was an all-day process due to the size of the script, but we got it done! We made ALOT of corrections. But in the end, I'm so proud of this script. The narration starts on Monday!
