The Story of Super Mario World

I was on a 2-year streak of making "Story of Mario" videos, but the streak ended in 2021. A majority of the research on this video is already done, plus all of the game capture. This will be my first video for 2022. I would expect it to come out in February. 

Oregon Trail Documentary

Back in 2019, I interviewed several of the creators of The Oregon Trail computer game. I've been sitting on the interviews for awhile, but I think I'm finally ready to do something with them. I initially thought I would save them for my graduate thesis, but I'm getting a little antsy. 

Universal vs. Nintendo

Right before COVID hit in 2020, I scanned documents from the Universal vs. Nintendo case at the National Archives. I've been slowly looking over all the documents, and I 'd like to turn it into a full video. Once it is done, I'll be uploading all these documents to archive.org. 

Reach 900,000 subscribers

I'm currently sitting at around 861,000, so I'm on my way! Subscribers slowed down a bit in 2021, but I attribute that to me covering more obscure topics, like the U-Force and the Mega Modem. 

Launch my TikTok channel with weekly videos

What? Norm goes to TikTok?? Yes, let me explain.

In my work, I come across so many little fun facts that I'd love to talk about, but they don't have enough substance for a YouTube video. That is where TikTok comes in. My goal is to put out a weekly video that covers a video game history topic in one minute or less. 

I've already made my first video and it only took me about 2 hours. I think it will be a fun challenge for me this year!

Do a big charity stream on Twitch

I've helped many friends with doing charity streams over the years. Recently, I decided that maybe I can try one myself. I'd love to raise money for the Video Game History Foundation by doing a 24-hour stream. I'm still in the planning stages at this point, but I'll keep you all updated. 

Enjoy life one day at a time

This seems contradictory to making goals for the year, but I think it is important. A wise person once said...

"The future doesn't exist. It hasn't happened yet. The past doesn't exist. It has already happened."

I think I tend to obsess over future goals or ruminate on things in the past. This year I want to focus on the now. The journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step. So I'm going to focus on one step at a time.
