Blog: I can't think of a good title (10/09/21 - 10/13/21)
Added 2021-10-14 00:04:19 +0000 UTCMy weekend was pretty uneventful, and sometimes that is a good thing! On Friday, I picked up Metroid Dread. I still haven't had a chance to sit down and play it yet. I might save it for a Twitch stream.
Saturday, October 9th - Timelines
My interview with Brian from Rockman Corner got pushed back a day, so I thought I would spend today just doing some more prep work. I created a timeline of events for the Mega Man Universe episode. History makes writing easy sometimes - just tell the story in the order it happened. A timeline can help make sense of everything. As you can see, contextual issues around Mega Man Universe started way back in 2002!
Sunday, October 10th - Dolphins lost again
One day, I'll get to write the Dolphins won—one day.
Today, I had a great interview with Brian from Rockman Corner about Mega Man Universe. Brian has spent years researching the development history of Mega Man Universe, so he had some great insight. With the interview complete, I can start outlining and writing the script tomorrow.

Japanese gamers waiting in line for their Super Famicom reservation! Is that a toaster??
I also worked more on the Super Mario World video. I found about 20 new sources for research and got some Japanese news segments translated. Unfortunately, they didn't confirm anything I didn't already know, but I always like to double-check.
Monday, October 11th - Headache...ugh
I woke up with one of those splitting headaches. I'm not sure why. The temperatures did drop pretty significantly, so maybe that's it. Sorry to say, gamers, but I didn't get much done today. I did manage to outline the Mega Man Universe episode, so tomorrow, I can start writing. But I mostly just took it easy today. I felt terrible.
By the evening, I was feeling well enough to stream Metroid Dread over on Twitch. It's a fantastic game so far!
Tuesday, October 12th - Mega Man Universe script
I wrote the entire Mega Man Universe script today—eight pages of canceled Mega Man game goodness. When I write, I tend to 'vomit' out everything first. Editing will come later.
Like every episode, this turned into a more extensive video than I thought. We will edit this down and start production right away!
I also continued my Metroid Dread playthrough on Twitch. I think I'm near the end. If you are on the fence, get it! It's probably my favorite Metroid game.
Wednesday, October 13th - Editing and light gun episode

While Kristin edits the script, I figured I would start messing around with all these NES light guns. My video will cover all of the North American light guns. But Japan had a few exclusive guns like the Hyper Shot (a machine gun!).
After testing them all, I have to say that the Camerica VideoBlaster is my favorite. It is, literally, a copy of the Famicom Beam Gun. It uses the same mold, and even the boxes are the same size. I like the realistic feel and the hammer, which makes me feel like a wild west cowboy.
It's Friday for me, so I'm going to finish up Metroid Dread tonight. This weekend, I'll be doing something really exciting: Recycling hazardous waste! The old owners of my house left a ton of paint cans lying around.
