tl;dr - LMO v0.5.0 is coming soon! Plus I've made some pics I really like for AotNM.
This week's image
Okay, you should know that this picture took an awful lot of work. I had to create nine fairy characters, then pose them in this scene. I knew it would be hard to do and it was kind of nuts, but this was an ending EFon and I wanted to be in the game so I just had to take some time to build a whole tribe of fairies.
In theory I probably could have gone for more generic ones but I actually found it wasn't much more difficult to systematically just give them each a different look with different hair and wings. While I was doing it I gave them all names, even though that doesn't ever come up in the story. They are Queen Titania and her subjects: Tatt, Snowflake, Fiery, Autumn, Petal, Violet, Knotty and Tigerlilly.
I hope you like it, I think this pic looks pretty good, I'm quite proud of it.
LMO v0.5.0 is nearly ready
I've put in the two new endings that are going in LMO v0.5.0; they're written, edited, illustrated and coded. I haven't tested them yet, but they're otherwise good. That puts the total number of complete endings in the game up to 11 and there will be more. You're going to find that the endings are starting to connect to each other in subtle ways - EFon and I have been building up some story and character elements so that you only get pieces in each ending and as we add more you'll be finding more answers to the game's mysteries.
I've also made the gameplay changes I planned, so it's getting pretty close. You've seen two of the pictures from one of the endings now, but I've still held back some fun. :)
Working my way through LMO transcripts
This week one of my main focuses has been to add new commands to LMO through reading player transcripts and writing responses based on what players have typed. Having transcripts is always super useful whenever I need to work out what the game needs. There's plenty more to add to make it really responsive, but it's getting better and better.
I think the gaps will be less noticeable with the turn limit cut down to 50, too. I find people in transcripts are pretty well covered in the early turns but the later ones can find players flailing about a bit for a topic.
Working on Attack of the Nega Maids pictures
My other progress this week has largely been on pictures for AotNM. I've mad some great stuff (if I do say so myself) for the Iku/Kimiko threesome and while I don't feel like the first AotNM update is any closer (damn it), in the longer run this will be good for the expansion pack.
So I guess that doesn't sound like a big update, but I think I've actually been pretty productive this week. What do you think? Have you got any questions about the future updates to LMO or AotNM? Let me know in the comments!
