tl;dr - I've got new morphs for the girls' butts, I've started work on Let Me Out and I've done some image rendering for PAL.
This week's image - Iku's butt upgrade
This shot is from an angle I haven't really been able to show off before because the girls' butts haven't looked right. Rear angle shots are still somewhat inconvenient (they look weird if I bend them over too far and none of the correction morphs I've tried works very well) but now she has - yes, I might as well just say it - an asshole. It looks like an asshole and it can be fucked as well - it's pretty exciting! (Well, I think so.)
Basically, I acquired a new morph set and also edited her skin texture to add a little detail. I'm pleased with this progress because it also means that other girls built on the Aiko 4 model (all of my characters at the moment at least) will get the upgrade.
Until now I've had to be a little bit artful in generally avoiding showing the girls from this kind of angle, but I don't have to be any more. That said, I don't plan to make all the images big, explicit penetration close-ups or anything like that. That's an artistic design choice that I've never really appreciated in porn. Sure, I want to see the goods from time to time but I mostly want to see full-body shots that show the girls' physiques in sexy ways, and I also have a fondness for seeing their faces during sex as well. Consider this another wrench in the toolbox, then, and that's the way I plan to use it.
By the way, this image isn't in the game yet and I'm not 100% sure where it will go - probably at the start of "rub ass" or "lick ass".
Developing Let Me Out!
What with all the attention PAL's been getting lately I've really only just got started on LMO. I started out with some design work on a new character - I don't know how much I should say just yet; I think I'd like to keep some surprises for when you play the game.
I've made several images already; Let Me Out won't need anything like as many pictures as something like PAL, so I've already got a pretty good start on those. I showed some of my early Iray designs for the characters already and at the time I had some real trouble with 'uncanny valley' issues. You might remember that I was considering actually just using the older 3Delight renderer like I did for Let Me In, just so I could avoid that problem. Well, that issue seems to be past now. I am better with Iray than I was then (even though it wasn't all that long ago) and I've found that my designs don't tend to fall into that trap any more, so the new image work I've made for LMO is all Iray and thus much fancier than the pics for LMI. It's a similar situation as with those new Crossworlds designs I showed you earlier in the week.
Another thing I'm doing is starting to program the game with early responses. A nice thing about the design for a small and (in some respects) simple game like this is that it doesn't take long before I can launch straight into the content programming. I was a little hesitant with it at first (maybe I still am, actually) because I don't fully remember all the design features of LMI and so I'm not in the LMI programming head space that I was before. I can't totally remember how to do everything like I did when I made LMI. Fortunately I discovered a good feature of ADRIFT 5 that I didn't know it had until now - I can have two instances open at once, so I can see LMI's programming while working on LMO. I can't copy/paste between them except with text, but it still helps me a lot with the programming.
All this said, I actually think I might put LMO development on pause until the funding goal is back up past the level of the LMO goal. I find myself a little less motivated to work on it now that we've dipped back under the goal (at least for now) and I also think it would be weird to start releasing early versions without having reached the goal. Don't worry, I'm sure we'll be back over the goal soon and I'll be able to jump back into it. I kind of plan to start releasing some early versions in July sometime.
Work on PAL
I have worked on PAL as well this week, naturally. I have done some work for a victory suite scene involving Ai (at the beach - I've shown you a couple of pics from it already) that is a large patron request and has required multiple sessions. The good thing about patron requests (I've probably mentioned this before) is that, even though they might require a lot of work for the overall money, the work will ultimately enrich the game anyway.
Also, AW Freyr has been working on the lust fantasy scenes (when Kenji has too much lust and tries to romance a girl he'll flip out and see a fantasy) and I've made some images for them. I've also done some other image design work, as I often throw together a render here and there when I can't think of what else to do. I mean, there's plenty of stuff I could be doing but I don't always have the focus to take on something complicated.
Hopefully you guys at $10+ have been enjoying the latest alpha! Now if you have any thoughts please drop in the comments section - it's always good to have some chatter!
