The tiered voting system is one way to show our appreciation for their commitment while still allowing everyone to have a voice in the decision-making process. Yes, capitalism has a lot of pros and cons and sometimes feels unfair, but fairness doesn't pay bills and this is above all, a business, and we have to reward our highest contributors. If this were a purely capitalistic system, we would allocate votes directly proportional to contributions—for example, the $1 tier would receive 1 vote, the $10 tier would receive 10 votes, and the $30 tier would receive 30 votes. In that scenario, it’s true that votes from the $1 tier might feel insignificant. That is not the case here. That said, we are always open to improving and refining our systems to ensure they feel as fair as possible. If you have suggestions on how to better balance this, I’d love to hear them! Our goal is to create a process that works for everyone and sustains the company in the long term. Finally, I would like to remind you that this would only matter in close votes, which is clearly not the case in any of the tiers.
