Update about stuff and things and the such. Also, a69?
Added 2018-10-17 20:34:10 +0000 UTC0.8's coming along nice, octane's working wonders and the render count already exceeds that of 0.7. Now I realize that's not saying too much, but it is still incredibly fast compared to my old Iray render setup. Other than that, I don't really got any news on the PL front.
As for a69 tho
It's been like 3 weeks since da release. I figure now's a good time to asses the reception to a69 and I gotta say, I'm positively surprised by peeps' reactions. The amount of shit a69 was getting before release was insane and I figured there'd be no way this would be well received as most people would be going in to it with a negative mindset.
But nah, turns out some of yall really liked it. Which is why it seems a bit dumm for those of you who did, to have to wait potentially years for another release of a69.
So I gotta proposal.

The dreaded polls.
A poll goes up somewhere near PL 0.8 release, options are: make PL 0.9 or make a69 0.02
I do an update to whichever game wins, let's say a69 0.02 wins, I make a69 0.02 and immediately after that, without a poll, the game that didn't win, PL, gets an update. Then, once both games have had an update, we have another poll to decide which game gets an update. Sound good?
Answer is no you big dum dum. That's not gud at all. Thing is, I still want to develop PL more than I do a69, I don't want to develop them side by side I guess. So what I was thinking is that, we give PL a sort of preference thingy. My idea is this:
If a69 wins the poll, I make an update for it. Once it's done, I make an update for PL without putting it up to a poll. After the PL update is done as well, we have another poll for which game to update

So basically a69 doesn't get poll free updates. Meaning it's really up to you all if you want more a69. And even if you do, it still won't stop PL's development. Sound good?

2018-11-04 18:16:58 +0000 UTCIf you didn't shoehorn each PL path into separate updates it wouldn't be as much of an issue. The forcing Emily into 1 day, others into the next day is poor storytelling. You could then alternate A69 and PL without forcing fans of each PL path to have nothing to do.

But working on something when you would rather be working on something else is not conducive to good results. You risk burnout and slippage in the quality of your work. So if you do go with a poll, I am going to vote for PL every time, regardless of how much I like A69.

(damn, more or less) "As has been said before, after these two updates drop (hopefully in 2018) the plan is to put A69 on hold and start working full time on PL 0.8. I'm not saying that as a 100% fact for now because technically, if for some reason A69 becomes much more favored and popular than PL, I may hold polls or something at some point to see if yall want more A69 updates in the future. However, even if that happens, PL won't get abandoned" Are we gonna get a pure love for elly? :)

Rather than a poll I would suggest that you do 2 or three PL updates per A69 update that is assuming you don't have enough time or resources to develop both games simultaneously. I like the way you're thinking though.

Would however want a second poll or third option should PL win to ask if we want an A69 update after as I do think PL being more developed is going to continue to win against A69. Which will making it harder and harder for A69 to win the poll as we get further away from its initial release.
