It's looking for followers as much as leaders. The MIND needs Sidorov as much as his blind followers to throw themselves at the Archons. Rare is a person that is followed just because he's great, like AoT's Erwin. As much as the ISCM needs Erwin's, sycophants and narcissists will do as well. Napoleons and Alexanders and Washingtons. Then again Firesong is leagues above Valormade and Red Crown but I still think Sarah is moreso gonna dismantle the chokehold Sidorov has on the second year class and forge her own team. We may see them all work together if Bryce does end up deploying them all to the front lines to fight the Archons though.

I was a little iffy during the first chapters/ RE writes when viv s rank growth went back down to more believable spec but it makes the story a lot more plausible, as far as it can be anyways. Anyways thanks for all your hard work with the series i really do enjoy it

The ending of 39 flows better and keeps true to Catcher's character and personality without being too out there or extreme. I still enjoy Siderov getting his butt kicked, might be a chance for growth? (Doubt it, but you never know...) Regarding the MIND and variables. I saw many questioning why any get denied due to the third test, but I think it would be a little more complex than that. The MIND, in searching for variables, is most probably not "throwing out the book" but rather looking at the people coming in more holistically rather than using the firm checklist which is implied by what is expressed by the people of this setting. In cases like Raiden, the variable was stretched to disregard his physical prowess. He more than passed the knowledge and intelligence aspects, and showed not great physicality, but also showed that he was not using his lack as an excuse but rather as a challenge to overcome. This is shown in the writting by his making the fighting team even though he is not physically suited to that particular activity. In the first book, at the tournament, he was only 1 win behind some on his team that were not so limited physically, implying that even though he was limited by his disease this limitation did not stop him from succeeding, only made success harder for him than for others with the same ambitions. In addition he shows that he leverages his few advantages to the best of his ability to succeed, or at least to get as close to success as he can. It may be these that tipped him over to be selected, rather than it being completely random, it is just as expansion of what can be considered in the selection process as marginal, but acceptable as a test of hypothesis With Siderov it may have been his determination and drive to be the best that pushed him over the edge for selection, not necessarily the psychopathy. It is thought that sociopaths and narcissists can be incredibly successful in positions of power, and a CAD user is pretty much the definition of power in this universe. Just being sociopathic or narcissistic is not evil, it is the expression of these traits that places it in that realm. With all that said, Siderov is an ass and would make a good crime lord in any other universe, but I like the thought that he will hit his limit long before team Fire Song and friends get close to theirs, it makes me happy to see a "bad guy" get their just desserts Thank you again for all your work, it makes my day lighter to have something wonderful to read

Can you imagine - Current Firesong, plus Sarah plus Lennon, and maybe Dice? Also, I wonder, could Kamiya sponsor Lennon, to get a less obvious lead in Galen's? Maybe sponsor him (third year) , then Sarah (2nd year), then Rei and team (1st year?)

Little inconsistencies make a huge difference in immersion and this is by far my favorite series currently being released. Seeing those issues in your previously published books irked me to no end, so please reach out if you would like a second set of eyes to read through and offer corrections on any inconsistencies. I’m not trying to take over someone else’s job in any way, just offering this with goodwill and an appreciation for your creation. (I’ve read through Warformed at least 4 times.) Now, if I’m being honest, your release schedule pisses me off. HOWEVER, that’s only because of how excited I am to read every new chapter you release. You and this story have me hook, line, and sinker buddy. I (and probably everyone else who subscribes on here) want these novels to be the best that they possibly can be. I hope this doesn’t make me sound like a complete ass, but you need someone to proofread before the final draft if you want your story to be released in the best possible form. The previous installments in this series had errors that should NOT have been there and took away from the imagery that’s inherently created. I apologize for this essay in your comments but I simply want/hope to help. It’s not alll magnanimous by the way. Helping you to create a better product gives me the opportunity to enjoy it more. Anyways, thank you for letting us appreciate your imagination<3

I'm just relistening to Book 2 and I seriously think their team name should be changed from Fire Song to Pantheon. These guys are all going to end up as gods on the field with how much effort they put in and the hurdles they will be overcoming. Looking forward to seeing Cash and Grants next upgrades and what happens when Aria gets Seed 3.

Kinda wanna give Sarah a big fucking hug. Makes me wonder how fucked up her life was up til this point. A part of me thinks that Rei, despite being discarded and with his full illness, got the better life. And damn again with the relevation of the MIND and Sidorov... Just how fucked are they?

Sarah realizing and understanding everything makes me happy. The mind blatantly saying that all he wanted was variables and how even when these psychos aren't supposed to be cad users, they are because of variables. Its a dark line for sure i love it. Rei and catcher are a close competition for my favorite but catcher is winning ever so slightly still. Can't wait to watch him go ballistic one day.

2025-07-18 19:12:17 +0000 UTCThe MIND allowed Viv to hospitalize herself just to see where it would lead. It’s in concert with Abel for a number of pushes though it has a slightly tighter feedback loop as to what might break the cadets than Abel’s ham fisted S0’s at the tournament.

In chapter 39 - wouldn’t mind a shared look between Viv (with a hint of a blush) and Logan just after Dent destroys Sid just as a quick callback - and Logan’s kind of missing in this scene. In chapter 40 - a direct mention of Archons by the MIND of those who will not treat Rei well. Just to touch base that this is a war and there is an enemy.

We need some combat action with Catcher’s new gear and hopefully another Rei evolution as he’s got to be overdue. I’m just curious if that gets him an external. He has to be approaching one with his development. Granted, each of the things listed is a want and Bryce is the guy who knows the process he’s working towards.

From writers block to a potential "time to pick up the pace". But yeah, definitely don't want this to turn into a play by play of Reis entire life lol

And if an author's love for their characters is determined by the challenges thrown their way, this isn't something Rei can outfight, or outrun. The "torn" part is that we're here at chapter 40. We're on book 3. I've made jokes in the past about how a "trilogy" isn't going to cut it, but it's only the freshman year, and the semester has just started? I don't know if you can keep writing this series for years, Bryce, but in today's environment it feels like a story of hope over adversity, and it's so much damn fun to read. As long as you keep writing them, I'll keep reading them (within reason - Iron Prince 23: The fires of Acheron Part 1 might be a bit much)

I'm curious how that tracks with some like Chancery or any others who failed. Perhaps they simply weren't displaying as enough of a variable to bother passing? Chancery actually worked to take it again and pass which is unusual, which may have qualified her in MIND's eyes. It does outright imply that under normal standards, Sidorov would not have passed. How would he take that if he knew? I wonder if that means similarly for Logan or anyone else who seems to have personality or psychological issues that could be a detriment. Nice small talk with Sarah. She does seem to share some things in common with her grandfather given she apparently also didn't quite listen to Jasper. I would imagine that Jasper wanted her to know but wasn't exactly approving of how Sarah went about it. There is a risk here for how willing MIND may be willing to go. Unless something changed, I don't think it was behind the attack at the SCTs. I could absolutely see it, but I think MIND is currently wanting challenges within reason and that could have easily wound up ruining everything even if it appears to have worked out.
