Just to be 100% clear, this is NOT a 33v2! This is that NEW Chapter 33 that I wanted to have inserted in before we jumped to Hiroto's perspective. I need to reread it to see if this is done (I don't like going tooooo long without a PoV from Rei), but I think it does what it needs to do right now!
Enjoy! I have to go to the Paris Book Fair next week, but going to try to at LEAST get you guys solid 33v2s and 34v2s ASAP if I think they need reworking after the rereads!

Unrelated to this chapter, but I’m listening to Fire and Song and after the first team battle against Boneyard Rei has the epiphany that if he trains with a partial call, Shido will grow at an accelerated rate due to being at a greater disadvantage, and then we never get another example of that. Granted he’s been spending his trainings with S rankers and and Type instructors so he’s constantly already at a disadvantage, but it seems like an avenue that was opened and then never explored

Iirc she said that she only got to go because a squad leader other than Lennon invited her.

Even the ones who are, are more about what he can do that who he is. They'll break him in the process of trying to mold him. At some point he needs to straight up tell them they need him more than he needs them. General Abel is going to need to be put in her place at some point.

2025-04-05 18:12:26 +0000 UTCAnother great chapter! I agree with what many are saying about the way they reacted to Dice. Even Lennon knew they would react that way, because he knows their situation. I do get why they would react that way with all the secrets they have been told to keep very secret. BUT at some point they need to trust their whole training team and Dent! Also, we all have to understand they have only run into her in passing (except Rei he knows her a little bit) and likely dont know how sweet and caring Dice is so suspicion is to be expected. This is one of the first chapters that doesn’t leave us with a massive cliffhanger. I was totally waiting for you to end it with something crazy like Rei overhearing Lennon and Dice quietly talking and saying “I think the transfers last name was Kamiya?” And Rei froze in his tracks 😂

Implying that one needs to be full-time to use it is completely antithetical to the whole concept of it For one thing, saying that Patreon should only be used by full-time creators implies that part-time creators trying to become full-time should not have the right to this tool. Which is... very silly? For another, even if that was the case... You are not on a Bryce O'Connor Patreon. You were on a Wraithmarked Creative Patreon, with Stormweaver only being the primary IP we give access to on here. To be completely honest, I'm not really following your point? 😅

2025-04-05 17:49:51 +0000 UTCBryce, the idea of Patreon was to copy the ideas of the past, when someone with money would support an artist so they could work on their art and not starve to death. If you are not a full time author, working on one story at a time, that is kind of contrary to the whole idea of Patreon, imho. So far my subscription has totalled around $30, the cost of a book purchased in store, but we are only on Chapter 33. I do LOVE your Stormweaver. But it IS torture to get this piecemeal, and there is no end in site. How much will your book eventually cost me? $100? $200? Just throwing this out there, this is how I think. Sorry if it offends anyone. I'm on a fixed income and can't work, so I worry about expenses, especially those with no end in sight, or the value is out of proportion in comparison to the rest of book buying.

Though I can understand them feeling like they were perhaps ambushed/ or at least hit with a flanking attack that they were ill equipped for. Hopefully in V2 the chapter includes the training for the evening even if it makes for a long chapter. Rei has to hit another evolution soon though that would make for one heck of a cliff to leave us on!
