came back to this video again. I love watching your reactions. Jazmine has been my fav artist since I was in middle school, im 27 btw lol. its so cool seeing people discover her for the first time! definitely not many artist that can cover her, but I think Brandy would be a good choice. Brandy was especially popular in the 90s. yall would love her. Another recommendation, Doechii's Tiny Desk Live. I feel like im watching a star rising. she is going to be extremely successful and im glad I was able to find her now. She's charismatic, authentic, theatrical, talented, funny, and HUNGRY. like she gives hip hop artist not just- rapper (which will make way more sense once you see the tiny desk live).

Definitely should check out her hbo max live session. The full performance is on YouTube and it’s perfect to hear her being solo for the Girl Like Me. And also has some more of her older hits from past albums as well. Lastly I love this reaction and hope to see more of you guys dive deeper into Miss Jazmin Sullivan!

There is a live performance of her singing the last song, Girl Like Me, by herself if y'all want to react or just listen on your own. Also, I really like her album especially the songs Tragic and Hurt Me So Good. You two should watch the tiny desk lives from Chloe & Halle and Masego if you get a chance. The harmonies of Chloe & Halle are absolutely perfect and angelic. & Masego is SUCH a musician and hilarious. I love his entire album "Masego" but "Lady Lady" album has lots of good ones too

If I had to choose a singer to try to mimic a Jazmine Sullivan if probably choose Tamar Braxton (Toni Braxton's baby sister). She is really disliked because of her poor social skills but definitely one of the greatest voices period! Love and War by Tamar Braxton is worth a listen even if you don't film it. I mean the song Love & War not the album. I don't think you'll like the album...

I’m pretty sure she was found at a young age and deemed a vocal prodigy. I would love if you guys reacted to her album heaux tales, but also reality show. Also, the last song is not "Pick-up Your Feelings" it is "Girl like Me." You should definitely do the acoustic version of "Pick-up Your Feelings" that she did at home on her porch.

I met a photographer once who was known for his street photography - he told me he had thousands of images of butterflies but they never see the light of day because doing so would confuse his audience. - dad

Her recent national anthem was amazing as well as the black national anthem. As far as tracks go, for me itll have to be “round midnight”. It is such a sophisticated rendition. Highly suggest.

I remember her saying after getting a record deal at 13, she was shelved becuase they didn't know how to market a little kid who had such a powerful voice. They siad "youre a kid who sounds like Aretha Franklin; what can we do with that?" so maybe the lable is vibe killing her artistry a little bit when it comes to her albums but when she performs live she can be fully free and complex and powerful in a way that may not be super commercial. So her albums don't fully reflect her talent.

I think you two would enjoy this one from Phyllis, You Know How to Love Me or Just Another Face in the Crowd! Your dad may hear a little of Dionne Warwick. Another artist I’m sure you two would enjoy is Angela Bofill song: Tonight I Give In, I think her vocals remind me of the late Valerie Carter with Oooh Child! Well, sorry for writing an essay!
