I think we found our Ward II main artist at last ;)

Still not officially announcing what this is, but those of you who know probably know ;)

I had a contract to get it done years ago with two big partners, but that fell through, so it's time to start forging ahead on my own!

We saw her hands in the art of Rei receiving his acceptance letter.

I think I'm most excited to see Dent now..... correct me if I'm wrong but the only art we've seen of her was some Rightor Vs Dent promotional thing on youtube , only seeing their CADs

Grant Ballard

Agreed. I'm around athletes all the time (especially figure skaters). And none of them look like their ankle would snap like a twig. And their calf/thigh muscles are well defined, not bulky, but well defined (in the picture, the calf muscle looks fine, but the ankles are too thin to be believable as able to hold a shield and become a wall to an opponent).

PreZ

You can be muscular without being bulky. She just looks like she has no muscles is what is being said.

All around very good, it's a distinct style of drawing. There's some differences In what I imagined from described scenes, but that's the lovely thing here. The artist drew what they imagined.

Amanda Jones

I agree, her legs and arms look way to skinny. I picture her with more muscles like a gymnast, just taller. πŸ˜‚

We showed the photos to Aria’s mother for parental release signoff and other than her family’s 95% cut requirement she had no issues, though she REQUIRED it to be renamed to Laurent I. She in fact fainted when she saw the WARD II heading.

People complaining about Aria not being as muscular should consider 2 things: Tall people don’t show muscle mass the same way that short people do, google β€œTall Track Athlete” and compare to β€œShort Track Athlete.” Aria could have trained every day of her life, and if the training wasn’t focused on body building, it makes sense for her to be lithe instead of bulky. CADs increase muscle density and effectiveness. So strength spec probably increases muscle/tendon efficiency, rather than size and bulk. I’m not saying that I disagree with the criticism, we should just consider that athletic & strong does not necessarily equal bulky & muscular!

I am used to any Griffin symbol used in an iconic fashion having it's wing feathers end in points. It seems weird to see the ends rounded in something used as a logo. Though she looks good, not quite as muscular as I would have expected (ie. more waif like) for someone at her level of activity (looking at her ankle/arms specifically).

PreZ

Ohhh, gotcha. Now I'm even more curious! Thank you for the clarification.

In Ward I they are definitely more like what you are envisioning! Ward 2 is a parallel universe that follows the same storyline, but there will be some aesthetic differences in order to make it marketable and manageable in the medium we are working in! 😁 -Bryce

This seems like concept art for a video game or a graphic novel πŸ€”

This is cute, I like it. But I'm still picking my jaw up from that Rei vs. Aria spread that we saw not too long ago with their CADs out and a outer-top to inner-bottom diagonal sweep. That piece is stunning.

The dress uniform is a bit old-style

Black and Gold's are perfect!

Ghostbane

I don't know whether this is supposed to be realistic or some artistic style I am unaware of. Don't know if you care about opinions, but that frame doesn't look like a powerful phalanx who trains a lot. Not even like a successful pre-cad fight team member. Women can have muscles too and that can look very attractive. This is more like barbie dress up. Otherwise, the illustration work is good. As women are portrayed as equally capable to men and having optimal genetics, then I would guess they should look like they are fit and capable.

Arttu

I have theories but still don't know what this is. Curious to find out of course. I admit that isn't how I'd envisioned CADs looking in their bracelet form. Always sort of thought of them as smaller loops that were a bit loose around the wrist but not so much they could come off. I suppose this form makes more sense though.

Voror

180 cm is pretty tall for a woman. With "designer" children being a thing is this universe, are things like height and build customizable? I'm curious how much they can actually change!
