A time to be alive man

Thanks Richard! Any tracks in particular from those two you would like us to check out?

What I want you to show next is "Seen It All" by Jeezy ft. Jay-Z. In my opinion this is one of Jay’s best songs and a street anthem.

Bayou Mic

Shout out for big upping T-Pain. A lot of people forget he was killing the game with rap singing in auto tune. That is until Jay Z dissed him in “Death of Auto tune”. Then T-Pain disappeared along with auto tune until Future appeared on the scene and made it popular again.

Bayou Mic

Thanks for all the time and effort you guys put in. Love the channel. Maybe you guys can check out some Bay area rap. Too short, E-40, Mac Dre???

Richard and Raya

I know it’s kinda different for you guys but I really think you guys should react to Earl Sweatshirts new album With Producer Alchemist “Voir Dire” it’s an amazing album that I have been having on repeat since it dropped about a month ago on streaming

I totally get where you're coming from. I feel the same way about new rock music - for me that means anything after 1985 or thereabouts, Just trying to keep in my head the thought that everything derives from, but also builds upon, the art of the past in some way or another. And like you say there's a sound for every moment. Thanks for your support of our approach.

After scrolling through my Playlist, I've got a couple of suggestions: First, I hate to be too commercial BUT this was feels like the best of bot worlds: "All My Life" Lil Durk ft J Cole The other is a little more violent but hard: "Back in Blood" -Pooh Sheisty ft. LIL Durk See...I tried.

Honestly, when I saw you were doing Future, I rolled my eyes. Like Jeff, I'm also an "old head" maybe. I DID like this song though after listening. To me, there's something to be said about lyrical integrity. Also, with the voice distortion, I question whether we are getting the "real" artist or some manufactured disembodied voice. It just seems disingenuous and empty to me. Whereas, the originality of earlier stuff was refreshing. With that said, I'm open minded enough to be open to understanding why Future and artists like him (lil Baby, Young Thug etc.) are so highly lauded. I do also appreciate you guys being so eclectic with your reaction/reviews so keep up the good work. I also have to remind myself, there's something for everyone and there's a sound for every moment.

I would love to see you guys review maybe a few songs from Killer Mike and also Run The Jewels since those could be easily done together. SUPERFAN of the show. Keep it up!

As someone proudly from the south we spent a great amount of time being completely shunned by the commercial hiphop industry. One of the big turning points came with us fully embracing out loud the same things the west coasters and east coast/new york "hiphop purist" were criticizing. They told us our dialect and slower patterns of speech were the issue so as a slap in the face we just leaned into it further. Made it more mumbly and ambiguous and found a beauty in that sound. Now trap has continued to top the charts side by side with new sub genres branching out each year. I think its important for the purists to remember these are the apples that fell from that tree. The sound of the south doesn't have to compete with the sound of New York or any other coast. It is, like our children, its own unique entity born from the vessel of the pioneers.

The Afro Buddha

I'm one of the old heads you speak of. Never was a fan of this sub genre. BUT I can still appreciate the both of your openness to it. Just because it's not my thing doesn't mean it can't be yours
