Thanks for the rec, ProRenae. Important to give recognition to the ones who start a new trend or genre. And I love what I’ve heard of UGK so far. - dad

UGK started trap music. Pocket Full of Stones should be considered the 1st trap song. Of course, this just MY opinion. I would like yall to listen to that song and see if you'd agree.

ProRenae

David Banner raps, too. I recommend "Get Like Me" or "Like a Pimp".

Kai, you've got to bring the trap music train down to the third coast, the real dirty south, LA. While everyone knows Wayne and cash money, I'd like to highlight two of my local favorites from Baton Rouge: Lil Boosie aka Boosie Badazz, and Kevin Gates. I don't know what's gotten into Boosie lately, but I still love a lot of his music, especially the more introspective tracks like "Memories" and "My Struggle". The same goes for Kevin Gates with "What to call it", and "430am". But he's also got several raw trap bangers like "Arm & Hammer" or "Out the Mud". Check them out sometime please.

ha ha thanks for your support, Crystal! - Dad

This is an ear worm for sure 😆 I can visualize Dad walking to the kitchen after this for a snack with a little bounce in his step, singin' "rubberband man wild as the taliban" 🤪😆 Y'all are great. I'd love a reaction to more Outkast. Have you done "millennium" yet? Nevermind... found the album reaction I forgot about. If I could ask for anything it'd be an album reaction to Aquemini!

Crystal

I think 24’s by TI is his next most iconic from that album

Brandon Wheeler

Please react to r&b artist SiR and do his song “John redcorn”

Marco

TI is one of my favorite southern rappers and this is my favorite song by him. You should also listen to some Ludacris, and so ga off of Andre 3000's Love Below..

David Banner did the production on this track and his stuff is so unique in its sound. This track feels so big and bouncy and I think set the stage for a lot of his singles that came later. It felt like each album after this had at least one single that had a big feel like this. “What You Know”, “Big Things Poppin” and “Swagger Like Us” all come to mind
