Important! Onboarding and FAQ!
Added 2021-07-02 15:41:18 +0000 UTCHi everyone! Since the video, there's been an influx of new patrons, so I thought I'd make an on boarding post. This may also help remind current patrons of what they get, restrictions, etc.
To clarify - what differs the $1 and $5 tiers? The $5 tier is there for live reactions. Anything else you also get from the $1 tier.
The only reason why I have the $5 tier difference is to prevent 40+ people sending me video links, since even at 5 minutes (per video), that could eat up a lot of time.
Okay, so to summarize the benefits:
B-Roll - I am more than happy to shoot any b-roll needed for any ongoing patron, within reason. Reason, in this situation, means I don't have to go out and buy a figurine or something because you need a shot of a figurine. If it's something I can print off and shoot, or something generic like an everyday object, I'm more than happy to shoot it. It will also be shot as close to Log as possible at 4k, H264 encoded. Please do not expect to receive it within a few days, I work 9-12 hour shifts, so it may take a while. If you don't get it within two weeks, please remind me!
Skrullz' Music - Any music Skrullz makes for the channel is yours to use, for personal or commercial purposes, under the condition that you credit him. He uses, to my knowledge, CC4, which is the freedom to remix, adapt, and use, only under the condition that you credit him.
Thumbnail Drawings - Given that I'm not good enough to draw anime girls, I'm going to do a Patreon hangout session for thumbnail drawings. Before I publish a video, I'll do a patron hangout and we can think of a stupid thumbnail together. I'll still use the anime girl face thumbnail for the video (since Youtube seems to want that), but I can upload any collaborative thumbnail nonsense up here.
Scripts and Notes - I'll upload them as a Google Docs link, they're largely preliminary notes on whatever the next video is, the only exception being interview videos, since those require a lot of back and forth with whomever I'm interviewing.
Editing Logs - Once I start editing, I will upload my weekly progress on a video, so you know how much / little progress I've made, what is changed and what isn't, as well as any brief thoughts I have on the process. I used to do it daily, but I think people got somewhat annoyed by that, so I'm doing it weekly.
1 Hour Session - Everyone is entitled is a 1 hour session. It doesn't stack, so if you haven't asked for a session in, say, 4 months, please don't expect me to accommodate 4 hours. That said, I'm not gonna cut it off at 1 hours, if it takes you longer to figure out something, I'm more than happy to obliged. I keep it strictly focused to editing cause that's probably the thing I'm most comfortable giving advice on.
Production Discord - If you have a discord account linked up with your Patreon account, you should auto join a specific Pause and Select production discord. That discord isn't really a way for you to "talk with me," because I'm pretty publicly available. Instead, it's primarily for you to keep track of what I'm working on and more specifically, where the money is going and what it's being used for. If you don't have a Discord account, you can also access it through the website (pauseandselect.com/budget). The password is patreon (no caps). The trade off is that the website isn't updated as often, usually once a month.
Production Podcast - I will infrequently post a production podcast, where Skrullz and I will go through old videos and talk about them. Most of it is from the perspective of where I am now, what I'd do differently, whether I agree with my position now, etc. It's entirely in audio, mainly to make it easier for people to listen on the go. It's not exciting, but hey it gives a bit more insight on the backend process (if that even is exciting at all).

$5 Movie Review Tier - They're less movie reviews and more like rants, but I have a spreadsheet (which I sorely need to finish up) where I'll talk about movies that you send me.
