EARLY ACCESS: STORMWEAVER 2 - Chapter 18
Added 2022-06-02 12:58:42 +0000 UTCI'm 99% positive there is going to have to be a "Chapter 18.5" next week, because as long as this chapter is so far (it's long), it cuts off in the middle of what is technically a flashback and I don't like it. Going to have to wrap it more cleanly between now and next Friday.
Don't worry, though. Like I said, there's plenty to read still, ha. At 6.6k words, I think this is the longest chapter posted yet?
Enjoy!

A few rules & reminders:
- Chapters will be dropping as Bryce completes them. That means anywhere from every 1 to 2 weeks on average, though sometimes waits may be longer.
- Recall that these are rough chapters, with no editing other than a single pass-through as Bryce writes.
- On a similar note, we are not asking for advice or corrections at this time. If Bryce wants feedback, we will certainly reach out, thank you!
That's it, so without further ado... Enjoy!

2022-06-05 13:18:17 +0000 UTCI feel like I'm heavily addicted to these chapters. Is there an Iron Prince Anonymous I can go to in order to talk about my addiction?

2022-06-04 06:01:25 +0000 UTCHey there. THis is my first time posting here, but I just wanted to say I love this series so far. I binged through all the early access chapters in about a day and a half and loved every step of the way. One thing that I am really enjoying in particular is despite these guys being military cadets and almost superheroes in training, you still take the time to write them as if they were teenagers/young adults. Something that a lot of authors seem to forget when writing characters in the 18/19 age range is that despite their adult bodies and super powers they are still technically kids and figuring themselves and each other out. FOr example, Viv's stonewalling of Rei when talking about Grant and Rei's sometimes deathseeker streak are evidence of them still acting their age. As a quick sidenote, back in chap 16 you took the time to describe the new emblems for the different types. As a blind person, I really appreciate the little details like that when authors take the time to actually describe what sigils and emblems look like. ANyhow, enough of my text wall. Thanks again and I can't wait for the whole book to come out.
2022-06-03 23:34:11 +0000 UTC“Catcher was the smarter fight, four ranks higher than Moroz’ B9, and had been practicing against Aria and Cashe for months now” I completely understand you not wanting corrections, but I’m genuinely confused, do you mean D9? Like normally I’d just shrug this off, but its getting in my way of enjoying the chapter, like did I miss something major or is this just a spelling error?

2022-06-03 17:56:50 +0000 UTCOf course, Grant hating cowards is only part of it. When Ward accidentally bumped into Grant right after arriving at Galens, Grant was portrayed as an ***hole. And that's before he had any further info about Ward. Plus Ward never ran; he never left the battlefield. He just repositioned himself. No different from a phalanx trying to gain distance. It's just tactically smart. So essentially Grant's the one being the coward—he only wants to face someone who doesn't use optimum tactics. Of course, all bullies are essentially cowards, so it's not surprising Grant is one as well. And finally there's the arrogance. I often found myself wishing that the author had someone reply to Grant and the others who said Ward didn't belong at Galens with something along the lines of: "I'll give you credit. I'm not bold enough—or insubordinate enough—to publicly call Col. Guest and the rest of the admissions committee incompetent. Because Ward's admission here was their decision. [They're also the ones that admitted you, BTW.] Of course, they only have a few centuries of combined experience assessing candidates and refining their judgement by seeing how their decisions panned out. You, by contrast, surely have far more expertise than they do. Not to mention that, in spite of all the detailed info. they have about each applicant, you have access to much more. So yes, certainly your ability to judge who belongs here far exceeds theirs."
