Having spent much of my adult life working in the US; Thanksgiving became a big part of my life and a favourite memory of mine over the years onboard.
I often think in a world so crazy and turbulent it was lovely to take a second to appreciate the things we are thankful for.
This year I am thankful for you all for supporting me month after month β€οΈ

I am thankful that i made it through my chemotherapy 4 years ago and am now in remission, i'm thankful for my family and friends and to this wonderful community where i have met some wonderful people. xx

2023-11-24 14:11:32 +0000 UTCI am thankful for my tutoring sessions with Isla, a 10 year old local girl who needs help preparing for SATS, standardised tests taken in the year before going to secondary school, for those of you not in the UK. I am retired from full time work now, but my time with her reminds me of why I went into teaching in the first place and is always a lot of fun, too. I am also thankful for the people that I have met here in Cornwall since we moved here, my family and my three rescue cats, who are family too. Lastly, I am thankful for this community and my friendship with particular individuals whom Iβve met here. β€οΈ

Iβm especially thankful for all of the wonderful people Iβve met from around the world over the past 10 months. Being able to now call them friends is priceless. Iβve especially enjoyed our Merrily chats. Iβve always enjoyed Thanksgiving because itβs just having a nice meal with family and friends without any other demands.

2023-11-23 19:07:14 +0000 UTCWell, this was to be the first Christmas spent on my own as Dad passed away last year (100 years old). I have three other siblings, but we've never been a close family if I'm honest and whilst our parents were still alive then we would all meet up at Mum and Dad's house at Christmas time and that was great. Last year I would have been on my own, but a very close family friend invited me to stay with them last Christmas for about 3 days and that was very good. So, for this Christmas I had come to terms with me celebrating it on my own, but I have just been asked today if I would like to join a friend of mine and his brothers with wives on Christmas Day. So of course I accepted . So that's what I'M thankful for!
