Weekend Update - Sept 11th 2022

Hope you’ve all had a great week. so just wanted to jump on and give a little update.
Firstly - I need to say outright that there won’t be a new video this week. I have definitely been burning the candle at both ends - I definitely have some of the traits of an addictive personality and it means i’ve been hustling really hard this past month or so and this week it really caught up with me. Been feeling lethargic so listening to my body and have taken a weekend off creating, working and being a social butterfly. My work life is going to be getting considerably more hectic over the next 6 weeks so I need to be careful and take care of myself. Alas, some much needed R&R.
As a result of the above I moved my trip to Herne Bay too. I started to make the trip and the video but because I wasn’t feeling 100% it felt super forced and unauthentic. This video will be the most important video i’ve made and authenticity is very important to that videos integrity.
I know you guys are amazing and are always super understanding and supportive but I just wanted to explain why there won’t be a new video this week. I’ll be back next week better than ever ❤️
I was feeling really disappointed at how poorly the This Winter video has performed (views are certainly not important to me but it’s an important metric in the youtube algorithm) but I had a lovely twitter follower DM me about it and it reminded me why I make these videos in the first place.
Anyway, I hope you all have an amazing week ahead. I’ll be posting a couple of bits on here so keep an eye out.

I totally understand, especially since I’m dealing with some physical problems that are getting in my way. It may be that the reason the video about “This Winter” isn’t getting as many views is that not as many people will have read it as have seen the “Heartstopper” TV show. But for those of us who had read it, it was lovely to hear such an in-depth discussion of it.

I haven't watch the 'This Winter' video yet as I haven't read the book yet. Once I have, I'll definitely watch it! I think I might need to read Solitaire first though, what do you think?

2022-09-11 18:12:12 +0000 UTCI’m home from my weekend and the first thing I want to say is to not worry about us here, we will be content waiting for anything you put out for our viewing. What is more important is that you take care of yourself first and foremost. You have gone through a lot of changes lately, moving, new job, saying goodbye to Rhys (sorry, don’t know how he spells it) you just need to sit down, relax and recharge those batteries 🥰 I never commented on the This Winter video but it did make me think about how hard it must be for people who have to go through what is meant to be one of the happy times of the year when they are feeling sad/depressed/anxious or even alone 🙁 I have always known it to be a joyous event with the tree decorating usually done with my mum and dad shouting from the couch that we missed a bit!! The whole family come together in one house and have dinner together then watch crappy tv for the rest of the night! It was another wonderful video and as Grace said I think all things HS has slowed down but with the filming starting tmrw for S2 it will probably pick up again.

You noticed so many things that I missed, and I loved how you find aspects to relate to in each character. Your story about attending a family Christmas and sort of realising what you’d been missing hit me hard though. Same. Thanks for sharing.

2022-09-11 11:34:13 +0000 UTCI have rather marvelled at how you’ve managed to move to London, start a new job, AND maintain the content schedule that you have. I think you have more than earned a rest. Also, I imagine the country is in a bit of limbo in the wake of Her Majesty’s passing. Good time for a break. As for the video’s performance, I’ve noticed that a lot of Heartstopper content is having a bit of a lull across the board. With the second series going into production soon, it should revitalise interest in content centred on the show. Fret not. Take care of yourself. Sending love and hugs.
