Speedrun Explained 63 (Update 3)

Hey all! I just got back from AGDQ two days ago, and have been spending the past couple days getting caught up on everything. If you caught my run live or watched the VOD, thank you for your support! The response has been so positive and kind, and I cannot thank you all enough for your support. Anyway, onto the update for the current video I'm working on!

SPEEDRUN EXPLAINED 63 // Dark Souls (All Bosses)

I last updated on this video just over a month ago on December 13, and at the time I had about 1/3 of the script written, and that I was hoping to finish it by the end of the month. I'm happy to report that I only missed the goal by about a day or two, and was able to finish the script before I left for AGDQ on the 4th! I'm incredibly happy with how the script turned out. I feel as though the full thing keeps a good pace about itself, with the explanations feeling very cohesive, with a solid amount of humor peppered throughout. I talked a little bit in that update about how unique the Souls games are for their routing, and how talking about the route is a big part of these videos. That's something that stayed relevant through the entirety of the script, and a backbone that I could always reference back to, helping to provide context as to why the runner does exactly what he does in the order he does them. I feel really great about the script and it's structure in terms of having the viewer walk away with a solid grasp on the route, and a few key points that I think will really stick with people (including a killer story about how something was discovered). Overall I'm super happy with the progress and pace, and I'm looking to get the ball rolling on filming and editing the intro this week, then diving into commentary next week. Hoping to have a draft of this video done by the end of the month, but realistically by the end of the first week of February. I can't wait for you all to see it!

As for other videos, the Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 video hasn't had enough progress to warrant an update, just that the runner is currently working on the run for it! I have selected the run for my next video after that, but I haven't heard back from the first runner I reached out to regarding covering it, so I won't divulge just yet what I'm planning after RCT2.
