The wide, charming strip of expensive wares and entertainment is a world removed from the crowded, odorous, hustle and bustle of the common markets. Here the wealthy stroll in silk kimonos protected from the elements by marvellous parasols. The owners bow low when they welcome their clientele, to their exquisitely maintained premises.

The small theatre provides its select audience with intimate shows, worthy of the Imperial Court. The tranquillity of the tea ceremony puts monasteries to shame. The viewers of the Geisha at the Okiya boast to peers of their attendance.

For those who see shopping as their entertainment, only the finest wares by renowned artisans are to be found. That special gift for courting, or to show contrition? It will be found here.

Not all the visitors are here for pleasure. Powerful people meet to plot and deal. This brings spies, ninja and criminals, who can be found (if they are not good at their craft) among the patrons and vendors.

Here is our first map set for 2023, Feudal Japan Entertainment Row. 14 maps, a long, long street with sixteen buildings. Three levels in all, rooftop, upper and lower. Day, night, winter and canal variants. Premises include a theatre, chashitsu (tea house), okiya, as well as restaurants, and a variety of shops.

Note there are two map styles. The Street View maps are the original two maps we used for an outdoor encounter. The Top Down maps fit over the other Top Down Maps for multilevel encounters including interiors.
