Some tips for writing your own Japanese math rock style ideas: In standard tuning make use of extended minor and major 7 and 9 chords for central ideas, and use A LOT of inversions to get the feel and sound of a lot of Japanese math rock bands. To get the tone: A fender style amp on clean with a light drive pedal, and preferably a Telecaster or Jazzmaster on the middle pickup selector. Lastly, make sure to have fun!
