Is it safe to update from the latest "live" Xbox version to this version mid-playthrough if I haven't started the Dawnguard questline?

What you should do is just install 001 to vortex. If you have the others in the same place, it will correctly know they are there and do it all at once. Part of the "issue" is just that Vortex doesn't describe what it's doing, so it's hard to tell when it's done things correctly. If you have a successful installation at the end, you are good to go.

or do i download all three on my computer and ONLY instal 001 to Vortex? cuz that is probably what im doing wrong, I have never heard or seen split files before

I know its a month late but this whole split thing is confusing me i am doing what you both said and usning the instal from file but as soon as i try to instal from file 002 or 003 i get replace or add variant, and if i say replace it says archive issue, what am i doing wrong?

Yep, when name requests are open you would be able to request Guts! No one has requested that name so far. When names are opened you would have to be the Inner Circle tier at the very least.

So when do you do the custom name requests, and what membership do you have to have in order to vote? I really want the name Guts with all the radiant dialogue and greets. It would be perfect for a Berserk playthrough with other mods I've found. I believe Lucien recognizes Guts as well but not totally sure.

Could you please share a screenshot of your issue? You can also browse for solutions from other people on this comment thread. In all cases issues were due to user error, there was nothing wrong with the files I provided themselves.

Got it. Would you care to elaborate on what you have planned for 4.2 in terms of Serana's disposition after being plunged into Coldharbour and throughout? Will she be stricken with grief which would be reminiscent of the house of horrors addon? I was really impressed with the level of emotion that was displayed when Molag's presence was known, triggering Serana into a panic. It really fit the circumstance and felt so believable when she started freaking out. I would imagine you would have to go that route at this point considering now she would be face to face with him often. I'm aware that you have multiple projects at hand so if you haven't given it thought yet that's fine.

Thank you! I appreciate the kind words. It might take some time to work on Version 4.2, the earliest time I can get to start writing it is early next year. Version 4.1 will be the last major SDA update this year, to be (publicly) released in time for the Christmas season!

This is by far the greatest follower mod ever made. I'm really waiting for 4.2 with the Vigilants addon because that in my opinion is the greatest quest mod for Skyrim. To play with them both combined would be such a remarkable experience. Especially considering Serana's personal history with Molag Bal which influences a huge part of her character, I'm eager to listen to every bit of commentary while traversing through the questline. I'm sure many others are anticipating this extraordinary release. It would truly be one for the ages. Do you have an approximate release date by any chance? and I just want to say thank you for your tremendous contribution to the Elder Scrolls series. ❤

Already using that. Using true blood replacer and the spell toggle patch for true blood. I am running amorous adventures as well but I ticked the AA patch

for some reason I can't toggle off vampiric drain and reanimate corpse spells for her. There is no option to have her stop using these 2 and she just keeps using them

Yes I just got it to work. I'm a doofus and downloaded it wrong the first time. Tbh don't remember how I fixed it but it's installed lol

Have you followed the instructions to the letter? You need to select the right archive (001) for install from your mod manager and ensure every part (001-003) is in the same folder.

If you were able to install 001 and in your mods you have both an SDA .ESP and BSA (which is 270mb) then it installed correctly. The others don't need to “show up” in the file list for them to merge correctly. Just install 001 and make sure it's in the same directory as the others.

I'm having the same issue. MO2 isn't recognizing 002 or 003 as mod files. it let me install 001 but the others don't show up in the file list when I hit install new mod

did this update have the new custom names or was that in the next update?

If it's installing 1 at all, it should be working if you have an esp & bsa at the end. It should still be reading 2 & 3 by seeing 001, it's just not explicitly saying so. Split archives can be unintuitive sometimes.

I'm Having issues installing the 002 file and the 003 in MO2. 001 shows up just fine and I can install it but when i click install mod, 002 and 003 aren't showing up.

And right as you say that, I figured it out. It turns out that the split files don't play nice with Vortex's drag and drop. You *have* to use the "install from file" button. Dragging 001 into the pane will make it not know what to do with the rest/not see them.

Ok, thanks for the info. Can anyone else (who uses Vortex) confirm this? I'm using Mod Organizer and everything seems to install fine, even after downloading the files from this very same Patreon post.

Yes. Multiple times. Each time, 001 works, but 2 & 3 are foreign to it.

001 installs just fine, but 002 & 003 give "not an archive" warnings, and when I say to continue anyways, they just overwrite 001 and put themselves in the folder without any extraction

You’re supposed to download all (001-003) then in your mod manager, just select 001 and it should automatically install. I tested it before uploading.

There appears to be some wonkiness with how the files were uploaded. the 001-003 after the file type has completely messed up the zipped file, and it can't be opened.
