Serana Romance Rewrites!

Hey guys!

A lot of responses in the feedback survey listed the Romance part of SDA as a part that needs improvement.

I agree, and rewrites will be tackled in a future update (yeah I know I already rewrote the romance once, but hey, there's always something to improve!). 

The rewrites will be particularly centered on pacing, and it won't be an overhaul of the romance (like the first batch of rewrites were). After all, the feedback usually stated that the quality of the writing was usually good, it was just that the romance moved too fast. Even if players could choose to not rush Dawnguard, having Serana confess smack dab in the middle of the questline does not make that much sense narratively. 

The rewrites will mainly delay the confession until the end of the Dawnguard questline. Instead of Serana's marriage proposal, she'll confess her feelings to the player. After she's confessed, I'll add more romance quests leading up to her marriage proposal (this will remain largely unchanged). 

My intention for the new SDA Romance will be for more friendship building, along with hints of small flirts here and there during the Dawnguard questline, with the actual meaty romance happening after Dawnguard. SDA's Romance leading up to the Soul Cairn will remain largely unchanged, with most of the rewrites happening after the Soul Cairn. The goal for these rewrites is to account that Serana is not the player's girlfriend yet. 

Radiant Dialogue and Greets will be updated as well to only occur AFTER Serana's confession, not after The Ancestor Glade (the condition before). 

I recognize that Custom Patron conversations will be affected by this, so, I'm willing to work with Patrons to rewrite the convos to make more sense. However, I will only be open to doing this once the new romance script is done (whenever that is).
