Using 4.0 On Existing Saves 'Fix'

Guess this makes it worth updating, I've been holding off playing alot of my save I've been on for the past year because of waiting for vigilant and Dragonborn content... Still hope to get a Requiem patch so her spells can be toggled.

I was one of those unable to load V3.4/4.0 due to getting messages that my saves were corrupted. However, although deleting SDA_FeedingQuestScript and SDA_FeedingPlayerAliasScript made no difference in my case, removing the SDA_FGMaintenance scripts as instructed has worked for me, so I'm now running V4.0 - huzzah! Many thanks to whoever it was who worked this out. Marty - thanks for sharing this fix. As I'm not running 4.0 as part of a new game (yet), I'm not sure how useful it'll be to report any issues that I might find. Would you like me to raise anything I do find anyway if no-one else has already reported it?

To give an alternative experience, I installed Pre-release 01 on my existing save with 3.3 and played for approx 10 hours. This was before the Daedric Quest commentary fixes and the Serana hood fix and installing Pre-release 02 after pre-release 01 DID NOT fix these issues. Might want to remove Pre-release 01 at this point because I don't see any purpose for it except potentially misleading people since 02 is just better. I rollbacked to the save where I had 3.3 and updated to Pre-release 02 (10 hours rip, but small price to pay for a 200 hour save), and it worked. Serana's daedric quest dialog triggered eventho I did those quests ages ago, which I appreciate since I would've missed it, and her hood works again. Opensex patch from the 3.3 patch hub still works, and commentary banter with companions still works. I'm ~10 hours into a playthrough with Pre-release 02 and I don't seem to notice any real issues, except spell teaching and toggling, which was always kinda broken for me. I just coped by giving her the spells she should've learned through console. Keep a backup with 3.3 and try your luck. Rollback if something breaks. Thanks for the great update!

Thank you for your answer. Sorry I didn't notice I worded it wrong. I didn't mean I was going to install both just about changing from pre release to the full once it's uploaded to nexus. But thank you again for your response. I also wanted to mention I've been having this issues with each version that if I tell serana to stop using raise zombie or reanimate corpse she will still use them. Not sure if it's a bug or an issue with one of my other mods.

3.4 is 4.0. You just need to install Pre Release 02. When the open beta is released you can upgrade to that.

If you install the pre release 3.4 and install 4.0 will you still need a new save? Or are there no new bug fixes being added and I don't need to install 4.0?
