Thanks Glyn! I'm glad you're enjoying it! I'm beginning to think I don't even know the end game (although, I never start a story unless I have the last lines written ;))! Part of me wants our hero to overcome this little hardship, but the bully in me wants the donkey to do his thing haha I hope you enjoy the rest of the ride!

It helps build the ominous sense of the cruel stakes that might be at play for our hero. I must admit, though, these chapters have been like the initial climb of a roller coaster that has me questioning whether I'm really tall enough for this ride. I may be a bit of wreck at the end. But I can't get off now! :3
