So school is finally over, haven't been as active as I want to be, work is more stable (Kind of).
Unfortunately School was so jam packed this semester in combination with my work hours I basically had no time for hobbies, meaning I didn't post here at all. I made basically zero progress on Panty Thief or any of the other projects I wanted to work on. I'm sure this had alot to do with my own scheduling and such but it is what it is.
Learning Unreal Engine
I've been taking a 2d class on unreal, and its going to be the main engine I use for future projects.
I want to make small projects in both 2d and 3d.
Learning Z brush (Sculpting) for school.
Learned the basics of sculpting in zbrush, it seems pretty useful for high poly games, not really something I can use for game design at the current moment. Might be useful in image creation of some kind for projects.
3D Modeling Classes!
Learned a lot of stuff about creating textures
Learned a lot about UV unwrapping
Learned a lot about a practical workflow when modeling.
Overall increased my confidence in the 3d scene
Panty Thief
Made some small UI improvements that allowed people to realize what they were selecting within the race menu
Made UI improvements to the character creator allowing the player to see what their character looks like based off text, until the paper doll system is working.
Minor bug fixes with UI and such.
Panty Thief
So stepping back from the project I've come to realize I had no idea what I was doing when I started this project. Scope creep has gotten sort of out of hand, and the code is put together with duck tape and glue at best.
Taking a hard look at mechanics and deciding what I do and don't want in the game.
Race Choices: Seems like bloat for bloat's sake. The game is meant to be played as a thief, adding more options and playstyles seems silly. And would far better suit a bigger project in the world like Kinc
Backgrounds/ Attributes: Same idea as above.
Skills: Same idea as above.
Combat: The Ui I've created so far seems cluttered especially with the seduce options. I'm thinking of making it a more you choose seduce and the seduce ability you use is just a random. Rather than dividing the body into parts for damage, just calculating it based off your entire bodies appearance.
The Entire UI feels clunky and my CSS skills are put bluntly dumb. Especially early on I wasn't basing anything off the screen size because I didn't understand it.
The UI is not very consistent due to me changing the way I wanted things to work halfway through development. Newer Often looks cluttered when in combination with the chunky older UI.
This doesn't mean I'm abandoning the project, just I think the project needs a lot of work for it to be sustainable in the long run. It has a really weak foundation that needs to be patched up before I feel comfortable moving on in development.
Other Projects
Small Unreal projects centered around feminization, transformation, etc
Space invaders clone
A simple space invaders clone where the player character changes when hit. Life is replaced with a transformation bar.
Dungeon Beat em up
Same concept as above but with top-down action combat. Pickups and damage change the character's appearance
3d/2d hybrid showcase (Eventually how I want to make K-inc
Just a demo of a 2d/3d hybrid and a peek into what I want to make for Kinc
Art
Want to improve my Art skills in general. Enough said.
School
I only have little over a year left in school. Obviously this is my main focus and will always take priority over everything else.
I want to give a quick thank you to everyone who is still here! I've noticed alot of people joined due to my old content on Fap Roulette! Although I no longer make content for the platform I want to thank you all for the support none the less! I hope to accomplish a lot and hopefully I can roll with the punches as they come. Thank you everyone for your support and I look forward to showing you guys all the stuff I'm working on in the future!
