Housesitting v0.9.0

Hello everyone, I am back, and the update is here, and the sixth day is now complete.

I've been totally swamped and mentally exhausted, and I have not touched the project for the past few months. Nor have I logged into any of my accounts. I didn't have the energy to play any games, much less for writing a story or creating one.

Luckily, I have had the past week off, and I had the urge to write—so I finished the update in the past week (there was just a single scene left). This update focuses on life at home and the reaction to the date; they discuss it with each other, and then life goes on.

The last scene of the day is supposed to convey them somehow growing closer, but simultaneously,  having a rift develop in the way they see each other. I hope I managed to do this right; I was quite rusty when writing this scene due to my extended absence, and it took some time to get back into the groove.

I'm pretty happy with how the update turned out, and I didn't edit it as much as I would've liked due to time constraints (it's the weekend now; I plan to get some rest and spend time with friends and family).I would have liked to make an "engine" improvement to change the way the text conversation was rendered between Sarah and the boy, as well as to make the "blue/brown" selection a little better (the link at the footer should only be clickable/visible after you click blue or brown), but I need to think of how to do this, and I don't want to delay getting this update out.

Now, apart from being swamped with work, I've had some trouble in my personal life, which is the leading cause of why you haven't heard much of me lately.

Towards the last quarter of the previous year, my cousin was born; this was to be a joyful occasion was it not for the fact that she was born with a rare metabolic disease.

In short, as soon as she was born, she was dying. She'll pass away before she can celebrate her first birthday. The torture the parents go through is unimaginable and cannot be put into words. I'm a simple bystander and occasional caregiver, and I've become despondent by it; it's heart-wrenching.

I implore everyone who hasn't decided on which charities they will be contributing to this year to please consider donating to a charity that deals with children's metabolic diseases.

I've taken all the money I've ever made through this project, quadrupled it, and given it to a local charity that focuses on treating children with metabolic diseases. These children really need our help.

I'll keep working on this project at my own pace; I enjoy the world I've created and its characters—I will not be abandoning it, and I will keep working on it as time and motivation permits.

Thanks to everyone who has pledged to me, I've put the funds to a good cause that I hope you will all agree with. And thanks to everyone for reading my story. I hope you enjoy this update.

Thanks, I had extensive notes and reread the last few days of the story as well. Not to mention, the story is constantly on my mind, so I still had a decent understanding of where I had left of. Thanks for the encouragement! Glad to hear you liked the update.

A great update! I was worried that the "magic" was gone after such a long time, but I`m pleasantly surprised that you can`t notice the break on the flow and story :) Keep up the good work!
