How unfortunate. I leave the country for a little over a week, and Fanbox decides to unroll a series of restrictions... https://www.pixiv.net/info.php?id=8789 "Regarding transactions for items Many transactions take place on BOOTH, pixivFANBOX, and the pixiv Requests feature. Some were found to violate the pixiv Terms of Use, Article 14 'Prohibited Conduct', Item 26 "Using the Services to display, sell, purchase, register, or engage in other transactions involving the products set forth below". Furthermore, the rules or policies of Brand Protection for Card Networks transactions for content that is patently offensive, unethical, or promote criminal activity; such as, by way of example and not limitation: ・Sexual exploitation of a minor ・Incest ・Bestiality ・Rape (or any other non-consensual sexual behavior) ・Non-consensual mutilation of a person or body part Under the Service Master Terms of Use, we ask that all users check for items that include the above content on BOOTH, pixivFANBOX, and the pixiv Requests feature, and if such content is found, delete the items or set them to private." I think it hardly needs to be said that the restrictions listed would rule out the vast majority of my work, and, presumably with it, the reason for followers and supporters to follow it. In the broadest sense, I can only hope that "wiser heads will prevail", as they say, and the companies responsible will recognize the harm that this sudden change does to both the artists who contribute their work here and their own financial bottom line. But I also acknowledge that I'm not fully aware of all the forces in play, and whether the change is the result of a sudden surge of "puritanism" or if there are other financial or legal issues in play. For the time being, My considered my response shall be this: I'm going to continue producing the kind of material that I have been, but shift my focus to games. I will endeavor to make screen shots that don't conflict with the new rules available on this platform, and links to demos and "work in progress" available off-site, continuing to work in the themes and situations that I (and presumably, we) enjoy. I may have to re-assess the fee structure in regard to the increased amount of work providing this content is likely to entail; I will do my best to make sure you are informed of changes in a timely and transparent manner. I understand if anyone feels that they cannot continue to support the work on a monthly basis in light of these new changes. Ultimately, if Fanbox cannot accommodate its artists and users, I may have to leave the platform all together. That would make for a disappointing ending; Pixiv, and Fanbox, have hosted my work for some time, and I've long appreciated the platform's willingness to accept a broad variety of work, including erotic work, from artists all over the world. If my account abrputly closes, it is safe to assume that something I have kept online has been found sufficiently egregious according to the new standard that it warranted banishment. If this happens, my apologies. Unfortunate times we live in. It grieves and frustrates me that, in the name of "sensitivity", ever so many people end up pushed out into the dark and the cold. If we're ever going to be better than this, we actually need to BE as tolerant and accepting as we claim to want to be, not simply keep moving the goalposts of what we find to be acceptable. Be well, and whatever you decide to do, thank you for following me this far.
