Why this:
Patreon left, what it started. Maybe not Patreon. But many users, In November 2022 I had 10 new Patrons, 9 of these left (partly the same minute).
December looks the same. I have fuckin costs and worktime (ha, since years), one time subscribers get all the work uploading it to pirate sites. And criminal asshole pirates are laughing about me and telling me I should get a job to pay my bills.
Well, I'm making a business, I put most of my time and money in this,. I'm in contact with the pirats, who just laugh., OK, they are not too dangerous, but I don't want to make them to easy. And now it's gettn interesting, at the end, you my dear supporter, pay for pirating and I don't see that Patreon does anything about it.

Well, SubscribeStar found ways to avoid pirating, and Pareon fired the security team and exchanged it, because the old didn't find a solution. Times change.

Documentation is non existent, and most was trial and error. I know when I should do this import part again for the newest version, it will take much time. Time I don't really have. I'm already behind my schedule, things needed to be done. Well, I'm always behind my schedule ;-)

2022-12-30 02:45:31 +0000 UTCIt is different on the other side. Piracy is good for the creator when there's a need to circumvent mismanagement on the publisher's side. Sadly, sometimes even when the creator is the publisher too. Every single one of my memberships (there are 10 ATM) went this route: Deviant Art (or another 3rd party site) -> kemono.party -> Patreon But it only works when there's a respect for the creators in the community. If DRM and other anti-piracy stuff help your bottom line it's a sure sign that the respect is lacking. EDIT: They say that pirates are not going to pay anyway. They would just miss your content instead. And sometimes it is true. I doubt the Kemono admin would pay for any content even if you implement 100% pirate-proof measures.

Maybe as a consumer you h.ave a different sight on it. it's like a burgluar breaking in, without allowence. I'm not always sure, pirating can make a little promotion, on the other side, what I see there is no respect for the artist, all the work. In forums they talk about you like a bitch. Everything in Internet must be free.. Difficult. I mean ther are there are laws to protect artists. Artist work, is work. A lot of work and cost. 99 % of artist have problems to make a living with it, we are not all Madonna ;-)

Anyway, pirates laughing at you is BS. We don't donate to get the content. We donate precisely to make it viable for you to earn a living by creating more content. What they're doing is inexcusable.
