We have another batch of #makethisbattle feedback for you! The theme was "Gods & Monsters" and there was a bountiful supply of ideas that matched the theme. Thank you to everyone who submitted ideas.
Let's see what EpicLLOYD thought about seven of them...
The Predator vs The Witcher [submitted by GlenOck, theformerprez, Crabcakes125]
You know I’m down with The Predator. The Predator is rad. The Predator is EpicLLOYD, in and out. And I actually like this match-up a lot. I only recently started watching The Witcher show and I hear the game is amazing too. It's sort of the perfect match up for The Predator cause they were literally made for each other. Like I seriously wanna see who would win this fight on the silver screen. Witcher vs the Predator might make a better Netflix episode than a rap battle actually but hey, I'll stick to what I know how to do. This is an easy yes for me.
Sun Wukong vs Kratos [submitted by PrinceKovu, Swan, Dragonsblood23 & GW]
This is awesome. I’ve been waiting to portray Kratos for a long time. I love God of War as a game. The weapons are freaking cool and the story is too. I think it is a character that’s been long overdue in ERB especially when it comes to video games characters. I didn’t know too much about Sun Wukong until just now! But a monkey that gains superpowers?! Fresh. I love the look and the region it represents. I'd dig diving into the Taoist details and learning about that too. This match-up might be a good fit for Unreal Engine 5 too so we can crank up the gameplay vibe to eleven.
Satan vs Loki [submitted by Swan]
This seems like a no brainer. Or at least Satan does. The fact we won't ever realistically do Jesus makes me wanna get Satan in to ERB. Clash of the Titans did a pretty good job of exploring this stuff and reaching back into the mythology of it all would be fun. Loki is a neat match up but with us already having done Thor it might be too much of a supporting character rather than a leading one. But Loki is popular of course and this pairing does have great visual potential.
King Midas vs Medusa [submitted by Bubonic & Shawn Ravenfire]
This is actually really cool. Anything she looks at turns to stone whilst anything he touches turns to gold. They’re both fictional characters but they’re both from deep historic mythology so it’s not just a pop culture character. Honestly, the more I think about it the more I love Medusa as a matter of fact. King Midas always struck me as a goofy guy for some reason but that might make for a nice juxtaposition of jokes and energy between these two characters. It's a nice idea!
Homelander vs Omni-Man [submitted by Gregory Masterman]
This is kind of brilliant, too. I always thought these two characters were like basically the same thing. A bad guy disguised as a good guy and not only a good guy but the leader of the good guy group of super heroes. Same amount of gore. Same vibe to the storytelling. It's strange how those shows got made at the same time and I don’t know why I don’t hate them both for being so alike - but I love them both for their own reasons. It might be cool to keep Homelander as live action and make Omni-Man a cartoon just to help the look and feel of the battle.
Bigfoot vs Slenderman [submitted by themostepicgamer & Paddy & FoxDoc]
This is interesting. I do dig Bigfoot for sure. I used to daydream about Bigfoot vs Chewbacca back in the day. I’m not sure about Bigfoot vs Slenderman though. To me Slenderman was always an Internet horror character that wasn’t really that scary. There was never anything really original or exciting enough about him to get me going. But he's got name value and offers a balance to the more brutish Bigfoot.
Dr. Frankenstein vs Dr. Doom [submitted by Alice]
At the end of the day I feel like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is better as a match up for Dr. Frankenstein. Does anyone really want to see Dr. Frankenstein unless Frankenstein's Monster is there? No. Whilst Dr. Doom doesn’t really have any potential for a back up character. He’s a monster and he was a doctor I guess. If we’re gonna do marvel characters. Dr. Doom is decent as villains go, but now that MF Doom has died, my desire to get him in a battle has gone the way of the dodo. MF Doom as Dr. Doom or no Dr. Doom at all, I say! Rest in peace MF Doom.

Here's a few extra thoughts from our manager HeadMonk...
I would agree Dr. Frankenstein needs the monster. But I'd also disagree that Jekyll & Hyde are the answer. I just don't see any real material other than surface level jibes. I think Curie remains the best option for Dr. Frankenstein. But I always loved Dr Doom when I was a child and if he's on the silver screen soon (he's rumoured to be in the Fantastic Four film) I could see his stock rise in the next few years.
Satan vs Loki is a fun idea. I think Loki's whole vibe is a good fit for ERB and we could definitely have a lot of fun creating our own version of Satan. It ticks a lot of boxes for me.
I love the character of Homelander. Much like Loki I think his persona and vibe and character arc is a good fit for ERB. I haven't watched the whole of "Invincible" yet, so don't have a real view on Omni-Man. But, Homelander is a big two thumbs up.

A new round of MTB now begins! The theme this time is "1600 to 1799"
Basically any matchup's that feature at least ONE character who was active in the 17th or 18th Centuries - two hundred years of history, so should be plenty of options.
You can of course always ignore the theme completely if you prefer. But, when selecting the match-ups for feedback we will select 2 or more suggestions that particularly suit the theme.
Same rules apply. Seven match-ups in total will be selected. A maximum of three suggestions per person. You can post them in the comments below, email them to erbpatreon@gmail.com or post them on the ERB Discord server in the dedicated '#make-this-battle' channel.
Deadline for submissions is... 5pm PT on Monday 5th December.
