I just realized that I hadn’t posted on Patreon that my August stickers are in and have been mailed to my backers! If you didn’t already know, this month’s sticker is a Steam-powered Golem with crab legs and a long handled hammer! I’m super happy with this illustration and can’t wait to find a place for him in the Venture Cats books somewhere, even if it’s just in a monster manual 😄

This is a Mesmer: a combo of a Jellyfish, Octopus, and a Beholder! The idea came from a pendant of the Hand of Fatima my daughter got a few weeks ago as a present (also pictured above). We were commenting on how much the Hand of Fatima looked like an angry jellyfish, and sort of like a beholder, and BAM! IDEA CITY! Hehe :D

I’ve been thinking that the human proportioned skeletons I’ve been drawing in my page layouts recently are not quite right for the story we’re telling. I thought about some alternatives and almost settled on more cat-like skeletons, but I think I like the goblin proportioned skeletons work better. Honestly I like the way they look WAY better, with their squished skulls, larger eyes, sharp teeth and shorter limbs 🤩
