#MakeThisBattle Poll #21
Added 2020-06-03 00:15:35 +0000 UTCAnother MTB means another poll! I've been loving these since we started them. Its been very valuable for us all to get a snapshot of your opinions on different ideas.
In the previous MTB poll Alan Turing vs Galileo Galilei was 1st place with 31% of the vote. With He-Man vs Barbie a close 2nd place with 28%.
But now we have another magnificent seven options for you. Get voting.

It's not always a matter of a suggestion gaining traction though. Sometimes it's just a matter of peeking interests of individuals of the crew. After all, Hawk vs. Gretzky was at the request of one of their friends children and Thanos vs. Oppenhiemer was picked because one of their video editors spoke in favor of it. So while I do agree traction is necessary, it isn't always an suggestion killer in my opinion.

2020-06-07 03:24:32 +0000 UTCI know I've suggested it so many times that Homer should go up against Nostradamus Vince McMahon he would be a really good suggestion but I think he should going up against somebody else that's just my opinion

2020-06-07 03:18:06 +0000 UTCJuat too clear the air on why I picked Homer to face McMahon, but first let me thank ERB for picking the battle for the poll, but anyway, while the battle is random and may not be the best pick for the two, the reason I went with it, is the fact the two are polar opposites too each other, along with just how long both have been on air. I believe The Simpson's is the longest running tv show and Monday Night Raw is the longest running episodic program on TV.

2020-06-04 21:10:59 +0000 UTCThe connection's pretty clear when you know the characters. The problem is, if eighty percent or more of your audience has to Google BOTH rappers to get the connection, it's just not gonna get any traction.

2020-06-04 17:54:43 +0000 UTCThose were easily the two best matchups as presented. I voted for Luther vs. Bezos, but it was a hard choice.

2020-06-04 04:58:36 +0000 UTCLex Luthor v Jeff Bezos I think could make for a really good battle.

2020-06-04 00:56:49 +0000 UTCEver since I saw Stan Lee vs Jim Henson, I've been wanting to see a battle between Walt Disney vs Tim Burton.

2020-06-03 23:58:34 +0000 UTCA lot of really good suggestions. I think the disinterest in Johnson v. Faustus comes from a general ignorance in who those two are. Basically, both had sold their sold to the devil (well Faustus is fictional and Johnson's case was more of an urban legend), so that's their connection. Kinda confused as to why Homer Simpson and Vince McMahon are paired.

2020-06-03 23:22:35 +0000 UTCNot gonna lie, I want to see the Luthor-v-Bezos battle, but Brothers Grimm vs. Aesop is just inspired.

2020-06-03 10:19:34 +0000 UTCI think I'd rather see the Brothers Grimm 2v2 against Goethe & Schiller, even though that would be a very German match-up. Aesop does need a battle though. I like the two options currently preferred, but my vote goes to Dr. Faustus for the classic deal with the devil, even though it doesn't stand a chance in this voting lineup.

2020-06-03 08:00:33 +0000 UTCI've always wanted to see the Brothers Grimm in an ERB (because I'm a huge fairy tale nerd), but the fact that you have to do them as a duo always turned me off any of their potential opponents, e.g. Hans Christian Andersen. A 2v1 battle isn't necessarily going to be bad, I know, but it's just so... unpleasingly asymmetrical. I'd rather them go up against another duo, so with a heavy heart my vote has to go to Luthor vs. Bezos.

2020-06-03 06:37:01 +0000 UTCI'll be honest, none of them really grabbed me, either from lack of knowledge or just general "okay, it'd be weird, but, really?" The one I liked best was Brothers Grimm vs. Aesop for the "stories with morals" aspect, but I always like the ones that play with the link, like Darwin vs Ash. For Faust, I'd sooner go with The Undertaker from wrestling, or John Constantine (the guy who sold his soul to three devils so they'd have to fight over it). For Vince McMahon, either PT Barnum or Ed Sullivan ("Really big shooooew" vs "Tonight....in this ring..."). Maybe for Quincy Jones someone like Berry Gordy? For Captain America...maybe another time-lost soldier, like John Spartan from Demolition Man? Three shells vs a frisbee held by Reb Brown. I'd watch it.

2020-06-03 05:39:19 +0000 UTCA Clue-themed Battle Royale would be awesome :D

2020-06-03 03:18:10 +0000 UTCWhy Homer for Vince as opponent. Spartacus would make a way better match-up with Vince.
Red Claw
2020-06-03 01:49:16 +0000 UTCP.T. Barnum makes more sense to me as a foil for Vince McMahon than Homer Simpson, Lex Luthor, or anyone else, really, given that pro wrestling is pretty much the modern equivalent of the circus. I'll also throw out what may seem like a random alternative opponent for J. Edgar Hoover, but makes a lot of sense to me: Wadsworth (Tim Curry's character from Clue). Hoover figures heavily into the backstory of the film, it's a great opportunity for one of y'all to do a Tim Curry impression, and there's room for lots of cameos from the other Clue characters as well as a multiple endings gimmick like the film.
