Hope all of you are doing well. For those of you messaging me about how to get more accurate DNA results, I have used 2 companies . (24genetics and www.lm-genetics.ovh) that work particularly well with European ancestry. They will take your raw data from 23andme, or Ancestry, and analyze and pin point areas where your ancestors hail from.
What I found interesting is that we tend to think in the terms of modern nation states, so when we are told, "our ancestors come from Germany", it doesn't actually mean you have DNA in common with the modern German. You have to actually trace a family tree (Ancestry was good for this) to find actual relatives. The data that I am showing here shows that despite the fact that I can trace 70% of my family to Germany as seen here

it does not mean that my relatives didn't come from somewhere else.
The fascinating thing that I have found is that it looks like my blood comes from Alpine folk in France that migrated to southern Germany to find farmland.

You can see that the biggest chunk comes from the Rhone Alpes. A little digging proves that I can find one family member that shows this migration.
Perhaps the strangest were next two, which shows I am Scottish. Now Lothian, at 25.95% actually were a mix of Anglo-Saxon roots, so would also be Germanic. They could have gone south to Germany.
Shetland is a nordic Viking conquered area, and it is crazy to see that some of my Irish and British roots are actually from here, and the next test proved that it may be one of my strongest DNA matches.

According to this report, I share a very strong DNA distance with people sampled from Shetland.
This has been a super interesting experience, and it gets more accurate everyday. These guys should pay me haha.
Thanks for all of your continued support!
