Samee! Love everything Beyonce does and the real deep meanings and high quality production of all her later albums but BDay is #1 for me alwayss.

Beyoncé dropped so much African History in Black is King. There is an awesome video explaining the movie’s African significances/references on YouTube if Ryan, Nathan or anyone else is interested. It is from the channel Black365. https://youtu.be/VblyBLsnplY?si=oDT2XlxBlZJJ1DBE

Everything is Love is such a good album!

Rocky

Im so excited for you guys to experience her work after Self titled especially Coachella and the Black is King documentary.

Ryan is the first reactor I’ve seen that mentioned the nod to Robert Palmer’s Additive To Love. Great catch!

I missed the live, but was so excited to watch it this evening with my mom. I think you guys would really appreciate watching The Making of the Gift (behind the scenes). It gets into the love that Bey has for Africa and the love that went into making the soundtrack The Gift and Black is King. It would work perfectly to do it before watching the Black is King Film. https://youtu.be/nfOdKCksgBs?si=-w6fmfnogBBRFkI3

I knew you guys would like Green Light! Everyone always praise her later albums (rightfully so) but BDay is my favorite album of hers.

I think the very specific sub genre that you might be referring to is “mumble rap” which was popular for a bit and included lots of autotune. It is a small part of the genre and I think a lot of hip hop heads also dislike it. I think you’ll find that the majority of the genre is not that, so I think you’ll be less and less surprised that you enjoy rap and hip hop, the more you hear. Also, a stallion is a term popularly used in Texas which refers to a tall and thicker woman. Megan is 5’10”.

We absolutely need to make Black Is King full movie reaction, a reality. It's got amazing cinematography, visuals, music etc... Happy to contribute in any way to make that happen!

You mentioned wanting to hear a rap album from Bey. After the Lemonade album, Jay Z released his album called 444 that addresses the infidelity from his perspective. After 444, they released a joint album by The Carters called Everything is Love. It's a rap album and pretty good. Hopefully you will give it a listen on your journey sometime after Lemonade?

Can't get over Ryan's Stank Face during the Rapyonce track! lmao

I didn’t see a place to send a private message so I’m sending this here. How much to request a review of the Year of 4 it’s a 21minute behind the scenes of the album 4…I think this will give you a lot of context on when Bey took charge of her career and only working on art that moves her instead of chasing the next hit.
