LGR - Cities Skylines II Review

https://youtu.be/B_CN_5m7xqo

Ahh, finally the sequel to this long-running simulation game from the mid 2010s! If we're lucky maybe that *other* sim game from back then gets supplanted sometime soon too, cuz boy have I gotten tired of covering expansion packs to these things.

But yeah, Cities Skylines 2! It’s a game that irritates, amuses, confuses, impresses, falls short, compels, and repels with its mishmash of great ideas and wonky execution. I have some thoughts on this one, so... here's a review!

Really curious to see what happens with this one over the next year or so, I think it has the potential to be the best in the entire genre. But boy there sure is a lot more to iron out than I'd hoped.

Onto November then! $5+ patrons can expect the next LGR Wrap Up video here in the coming days, and the next main video will be a bit of a simpler one since I have have several beefier projects in the pipeline that require the majority of my time. Gonna be a fun end to the year I hope :)

Yeah I get that, it's a lot to handle! I find it to be a de-stresser myself, but that's possibly because I've played city sims my whole life and it's oddly comforting to solve all the problems.

Over and over and over for years. It is incredibly tiresome :|

This is the state of the video game industry. Push out a half-assed product and attempt to fix it along the way. Meanwhile nickel and diming the consumer with DLCs.

I like watching the production of simulated life and environments, but I would never play, it stresses me out.

It's bizarre some of the things that aren't optimized. Like how each pedestrian is made up of ~40,000 polygons and LODs aren't working... the people have more "detail" than the skyscrapers!

Ahh dude, this game has so many performance issues it's sad.
