LGR - Three Weird Mice from the 2000s

https://youtu.be/JgDh3ZRtzJg

More weird mouse devices! On the agenda this episode are cakes, cursors, and balls.

I hadn't planned on making this a recurring thing but hey, it's fun and y'all have asked for more of them. And I've got plenty more so here we are! Plus it makes for a decently-proportioned topic that I can tackle without too much trouble while setting up my new place.

On that note, I finally moved in last week! In the sense that the old house is completely empty and all that stuff is moved over, at least. Now begins the process of setting everything back up. Or at least it should, but I'm hesitant to do anything too permanent since I'm still waiting on walls, painting, and ceiling, and electrical work. Plus a little plumbing for good measure. So many delays and shortages, ugh. Frustrating! I want to get back into a routine but I really can't until I'm able to set up my office and recording area again. And storage has barely been touched yet so that'll be a whole 'nother thing but eh, one thing at a time.

And that's all for this week! $5+ patrons can expect an LGR Wrap Up video for May here soon, and I've got a couple things stewing for (hopefully) next week for everyone. Have a good one and thank you for your ongoing support πŸ‘

Man, I don't know how I completely missed this video. I gotta say, even though the golf mousepad might be cheap, I do love the look of it on the desk.

Pablo Rodriguez

Is it a powerglove, then?

Pablo Rodriguez

That photoshop of you in the bath... It's giving me nightmares...

Mr Frozen Pancake

Oh dang, too bad there's no info on the Tastykake one, and that it has that rubbery coating, otherwise I'd be tempted to hunt one up for a friend that's fond of their stuff.

Valora Inverse

Cake, Golf, Cursor... thank you, Clint. It's good to know there are mice for every imaginable life situation :D

icezolation

Well, one advantage to shooting outside: Free "room" "treatment". No echo at all!

Jim Leonard

When I was at State, my roommate was in Landscape Architecture, and I remember a sign I saw at the Design School's open house that said, "Form IS Function!" That's what I thought of when I saw the third mouse. Because unlike the keyboard, it looks miserable to actually use.

John Covil

*shocked pikachu face* that the russia designed mouse is unusable haha

james fonda

I remember hearing some people say that even as a kid. It's a misnomer which seems to be timeless. :P

Kris Asick

Good god, that baby LGR is going to give me nightmares for the rest of the month.

Andrew Jobe

Any metal in the desk? My dad has a desk that has a metal plate on the bottom which totally ruins using wireless mice. And of course lexmark had to go ruin a perfectly good jab at the extremely noisy (but rather indestructible) model M.

Lennart Sorensen

It's SO BAD 😩

LGR

Worth noting that's a later Lexmark Model M, which is more plastic than metal I thought!

LGR

What's wild to me is how often I get folks (younger, I assume) in the comments referring to any non-optical mouse as a "trackball mouse."

LGR

My hand started to hurt just by watching the Mus 3. Ack!

Lari Palander

Trackballs in general seem a bit like "Oddware" nowadays. There's probably a whole generation now that are unfamiliar with the concept.

Steve Lovelace

I love this "weird mouse" series, especially when you find out that the fancy "art project" mouse is worse than the novelty CVS versions.

Steve Lovelace

It seems the big useless hunk of metal (aka IBM model M by the looks of it) on your desk is blocking the wireless signal to the awful mouse. I think you need a keyboard with less metal in it. :)

Lennart Sorensen

At this rate you'll have to consider a Three Weird Trackballs video too. ;)
